That's a little harsh.Yeah I mean I appreciate the fact that he was a vol or whatever, but we can’t sit around and act like he was a playmaker. Won’t be missed in the CFB playoff. Just my opinion. Guy couldn’t make plays. Reminded me of Jason Croom the way he could get open and still find a way not to catch the ball. Best of luck to him. He’ll do great at East Carolina or North Texas or wherever he transfers.
For schools like Oregon with an almost unlimited NIL, the tampering to load a championship team would be crazy. You can sign people during playoffs in the NFL who are not on active roster of other teams. Same thing to me.
That's the next shoe to drop. They'll start asking --- if I am paid to come here and play football, why am I going to class? Why limit them to 20 hours a week? Why limit them to only 4 or 5 years of eligibility? The money is going to change everything. The fall portal timing is the problem. Players have to transfer now if they want to be at a new school for the spring semester.
Not that they really care about starting classes lol, but the rules are in place because theoretically they are still “student” athletes.
I imagine Bru, Squirrel, and Thornton will be ready vs Osu. And Matthews is coming on. IF this were Mathews, I'd be more concerned.Wish him the best but really hoped he would have stayed for the playoffs. At least the tOSU game. With Bru, Squirrel, and Thornton having injuries another healthy wr to go with Brazell and Matthews would have been nice.
Yeah, somehow this needs to be addressed. These xfers before the playoffs/bowls really suck. Can't really blame players who will let blocked if they don't move quickly. Maybe I could blame them in a way tho. Nimrod hurts a little. But Smith really hurts because after Pili went down, we're now thin at experienced LB.There is a quick turnaround. They need to find a new school in less than a month.
