Yeah we could use a portal WR I guess.

We have to go get a difference maker,not someone who can just catch the ball. This offense is missing the guy who can catch the hitch,make the DB miss and take it to the house. Right now,most of our guys get tackled very easily when it's 1 on 1. Except Bru-he runs through guys

I think the staff really likes Nimrod, but the drops killed his playing time this year. After Matthews jumped him on the depth chart this was inevitable.

We have so much talent at WR we may not even have to pick someone up in the portal to account for him leaving.

I wish him the best. Can't blame the guy for going somewhere he'll get a chance to start.

All I know is there's already some really good receivers in the portal. We need to get at least one of them, our competition is already after them

This roster needs a J. Jennings type guy...a dog that can teach the other guys how to be dogs and hunt.
I like Kelsey Pope and all that he has done for our WR Corp, but it's different coming from another guy versus a coach on how to be a 'dog' versus technique and how to play the spot.

That is where getting a seasoned guy from the portal will help most.

No, it doesn’t sound like it. As of Dec 3, he’s looking at 5 schools per On3 and Sports Illustrated: Alabama, Auburn, Colorado, Kansas State, and Penn State.

His little brother just signed with K-state.

I don't see why anyone would fault Nimrod for hitting the portal. You can't wait until after the playoffs to declare. Spots get immediatley offered and taken up. Coaches these days force kids with ultimatums where they have take the spot right then or leave it. If you wait too long, you may get left behind. Teams fill their needs and less opportunities become availble. You simply have no choice. Blame the timing of the system.

And for Nimrod, he has 10 catches. It's better to give those reps to Mike Matthews and potentially other young receivers like Braylen Staley.

This is the first portal jump this year that I legitimately think is a stupid decision

No matter where you go you've got to prove to the NFL that you are the caliber player that belongs in the NFL. Tennessee is a better than most place to prove just how good you are so transferring to a less competitive school to get more playing time does not equate to showing that you belong in the NFL. I agree he should stay unless he is moving to another top program.
