Chris Fallica says Nico will not play this weekend.

Moore is nowhere near as capable as Nico, hence why he's the backup.

ZERO chance with Moore to beat GA.

* I guess that one pass INT was JH holding the Nintendo controls...

Zero is way too dramatic. If it was previous year Georgia teams, sure. Yeah it’s not a good chance with Gaston but don’t sell this defense short. We could win a 13-10 rock fight. 5% chance yo

Open question, why are most injury scenarios subject to a protocol and med staff clearance before a player can play while occasionally a player leaves the game barely able to walk and returns a series or 2 later as the announcers say, “What a huge heart for the game this young man has, he just refuses to sit on the sidelines,” suggesting that in some cases the player makes the call.

I think he will be playing. Just a gut feeling but I believe Heupel when he said sitting him the rest of the game Saturday was strictly precautionary.

That being said, should he not be available, I have faith with a week to prepare him and knowing how Heupel knows Gaston Moore, that he will be well prepared for Saturday. Whether it is Nico or Gaston, don't have to win the game for Tennessee, just don't lose it.

Hope you're right.

The fact that Nico didn't return to the sidelines during the 2nd half though. Not good.

Kirby feasts on QB's that sit in the pocket. You just can't do it against his defenses. Oline will break down some even if you're blocking fairly well. If Moore plays he'll have to run some.
The QB for MS State, that we held to 92 yards passing, had 300 yards passing against Georgia. On 37 pass attempts, Georgia had ZERO sacks. He ran the ball 5 times for 15 yards. Have you watched Gerogia play?

Sometimes you're injured (high ankle, concussion, etc) and sometimes you're just hurt. Lots of collisions in football. If it hurts, it becomes pain tolerance. If it's an injury, the medical staff determines what would constitute further injury.

Concussions are important to look at. If a player isn't recovered, the next concussion can be significantly more severe. Thus, it's not about what the player thinks he can manage.

It’s funny watching these posters overreact when Heupel knows damn well Nico is playing.
The spread wouldn't be sitting at 10 if he's playing. Not the way UGA has looked in recent weeks. More like 4 or 5 point spread.

Could he still play? Sure, but I personally think the odds are against it. I wouldn't be surprised to see him listed questionable tonight and then all the way through.

Another thing, is how can JH say on Saturday and Monday he's playing when he hasn't even passed protocol yet?

He didn’t. Well to clarify he worked off to the side and not in a normal capacity with the team. Hopefully he is cleared tomorrow.
What I took from Heupels Monday comments about look for Wednesday. I expect no more than Monday. Something vague like..... Questionable or Game Time decision.

Did you ever see a guy named Rick Clausen play qb on the road at LSU?
To be fair he had a huge chip on his shoulder from being at LSU and they never gave him a chance to play while there. Plus it's not spoken about enough but that Tennessee team was furious. Fulmer wanted the game rescheduled because there were no hotels for the team to use because FEMA and them all loaded from the hurricanes Katrina and Rita that hit back to back. LSUs president refused to reschedule so Tennessee had to uncharacteristically fly down same day. The situation was strange with the Erik Ainge goalpost situation. Credit to Rick Clausen for getting whatever motivation he needed to get it done.

Should Nico and Gaston both play? I know that playing 2 QBs sometimes has a negative effect on offenses, but the Vols have certainly had their offensive sluggishness in most games. This could be a wrinkle. Gaston looked good on some of the deep balls and luckily UT got some PI flags with those, but they were beautifully thrown passes.

Gaston also looked good throwing passes over the middle and utilizing TEs and not staring down one WR option. This is because Gaston has been around along time and knows the offense....

Unless Nico is hurt, I'm not suggesting Gaston get tons of playing time, but getting lots of meaningful snaps could maybe spark the offense. He's a senior, he is not threat to Nico's 3.5 more seasons of eligibility, but could help Nico when he's slumping????

If Gaston plays we don't win. He isn't accurate enough and too reckless with trying to sling it down field. Offense would have to put long methodical drives together. Oline has to give Sampson some room and Gaston will have to consistently hit underneath passes. Maybe get lucky again with couple PI's downfield. Less possessions than normal, especially with UGA style of play as well. Would have to grind it out which is possible BUT Gaston would have to absolutely protect the ball. If we do lose it would probably be best case scenario with Gaston as starter, especially if we keep it respectable. Would give committee something to fall back on knowing our starter would be coming back.

Moore is the backup because Nico is being paid large amounts of money to be the starter. Doesn’t mean Moore isn’t capable.
You think CJH would risk his job because of a players NIL deal?

Not happening. In the collegiate game of today, the coach still wields all of the power and wont be risking his big salary to placate the masses or donors by playing the inferior player.

Fallica, along with a lot of people in sports media, are Vegas’s voice. They can and do use those folks to push the public betting in specific directions. It’s not misleading, it’s influencing.

Price didn’t say he didn’t practice in that video.
I didn't say that Price gave an indication either way. Just that I'd pay more attention to him (or Fallica) than Josh Heupel when it comes down to it.
