I like seeing who commits/signs with us, but I don’t get worked up over recruiting whatsoever anymore. That’s how much belief I have in this coaching staff with player evaluation and development once kids get here. Not even in the 90’s did I have this kind of confidence in where the program is and where it’s headed.

Definite mean streak. He WILL find someone to block, and when he does, he’s relentless. One highlight showed him with nobody to block at first two levels so he found a safety, locked on and kept driving backward for a good 15-20 yards until the safety finally tackled him out of frustration, drawing a penalty. Think he’s going to be a good one.

Who’s the last player we had from Colorado? In the 15-16 years that I’ve followed recruiting, I can’t recall anyone we’ve signed.

I think Dan Skipper was the closest we came that I can remember, but he flipped late.

Watching those recruiting interviews with Nebraska and one would wonder if Coach Prime slow played or delegated a little too much in this one. OR if he valued him much at all.

He said he knew he wanted to play for the Vols by the time he returned home last weekend, but he “had to think about it for a while” before telling Tennessee coach Josh Heupel’s staff of his decision on Tuesday. “I was just sitting there and I was like, ‘I love everything about it.’ There wasn’t a single con,” said Ginther...“My cousin lives there, too, so all my family will be able to come out and watch me, and it’s closer for them. Everything about it, I love. I went to the airport after I left, and I knew I was committing.”

...He said he first contacted Tennessee offensive graduate assistant Kevin Pendleton...to let the Vols know about his decision. “And then, just on the same phone call, I told the whole staff,” Ginther added. “They were so hyped. They said they’d just had a staff meeting and were, like, saying how much I moved up their board. They said I moved up to, like, (No.) 2 or something, because I was with the team and everyone the whole weekend, and they all loved me, I guess. So they were just saying, like, ‘How can we get this kid?’ and all that stuff. And I called them, like, two minutes after the meeting, so it was pretty cool. They were super excited — every single one of them.”

Ginther said he primarily plays left tackle at his high school, but he has “played both” tackle positions. He said Tennessee’s coaches, including offensive line coach Glen Elarbee, have indicated that they envision him playing right tackle.

...He said the Vols have told him that they like his “aggressiveness,” adding that he has “a big switch” that flips during games. He said he’s “super nice off the field,” but not between the lines. “They really like my athleticism and length, of course, but mostly they like my aggressiveness,” he said. “I don’t think it can really be taught. It’s just something you have and, when I’m on the field, I’m super mean. They like that a lot.”
