'24 CO OL Gage Ginther (Tennessee commit)

Definite mean streak. He WILL find someone to block, and when he does, he’s relentless. One highlight showed him with nobody to block at first two levels so he found a safety, locked on and kept driving backward for a good 15-20 yards until the safety finally tackled him out of frustration, drawing a penalty. Think he’s going to be a good one.
Brings back memories of Trey! Remember when he jumped on the pile? 😂

You need blue chippers mixed in with these projects in order for it to work against a defense like Georgia. They got 5 star everythings coming at you from all angles. We have to land some sure fire maulers. Hopefully we'll get a guy or two this recruiting cycle that can come in and contribute sooner than year 3.

When they signed Brian Grant I viewed him as more of a project. I don't look at Perry or Ginther as projects. I don't expect high school juniors to be finished products. I like the athleticism, motor, and potential of both of these new OL commits.

Historically, they don’t sign “projects” this early in the recruiting cycle. Hard to imagine the coaching staff view these recruits as projects like some of the VN experts want to label them as?

This guy has a pretty good offer list for people to label him a "project" 🤔

He's the #1 player out of Colorado? At least top 3? That sounds a little better than a project
Centers typically arent rated highly. At least from last time I checked, when Josh McNeil was being recruited.

I thought it was interesting that the kid had the foresight to ask the staff where he was on their board and the staff saying 4th or 5th. Typically you only ever hear these kids say they’re number one.

Also interesting that they were showing him clips comparing him to Darnell Wright. The kid has the name of a bad ass center, so I was hoping that was where he’d project. Sounds like he might be a tackle?

The majority of OL shouldn't be expected to come to campus and be starters, so in that sense, the majority are "projects". For both the OL and the DL, a year in a college weight room, with a strength coach and nutritionists and whatever else, is extremely beneficial. Truly, all players have to be developed and coached up, but I think line players is where that development and coaching are needed the most.
