Ppl crying about the 3 stars really do need to watch this guys film, and watch a normal 3 ⭐️ and then watch a 5 ⭐️ linemen’s film. Then come back and tell us which star rating he deserves. I’m not gonna say he’s the best linemen in the class but my god this dude has some Elite film. How is he a 3 ⭐️

He's ranked a 3 star because the scouts on these websites are more knowledgeable than anyone else.

I mean yeah, his film looks good....for a 3 star.

Good luck pushing Bama, and UGAs Dline out of the way.

I mean happy the kid wants to be a Vol I guess 😕.

I mean, I know Kyler isn't as good at prospecting OL recruits as the resident chicken littles here, but he at least actually, you know... breaks down the film.

Kyler: "If I put 15 pounds on him, he could play now."

He's picked up 4 offers from the 10 blueblood programs in just 3 months.

He's just being seen. Guy basically plays on a different planet from SEC scouting territory.

He doesn't play against great competition which probably hurts his rating. Colorado isn't exactly where programs go to fill their rosters normally.

Which doesn't mean he isn't an elite OL that the staff found. Many 4/5* players are good. But there are an equal or greater number that are just as good who the recruiting sites don't rank high for various reasons.

Outside of a few 5* OLs each year with elite physical ability being pursued by the Sabans of the world, OL prospects are the least predictable for journalists who run recruiting sites. They don't have the talent to truly discern between 3* and 4* consistently.

What if we didn’t take their commitment now, we miss out on the higher ranked guys, the original guys blow up or commit somewhere else? Then where are you? Take these guys now. And if we land higher ranked guys then you can let the lower guys find another home.

There are no guarantees on recruiting dude.

Yeah they need to.
But also the guys they've recruited need prove them right in their evals through development. Addison, Reddick, Grant, and Lang need to start or contribute heavily by 2024.

This kids going to end up a composite 4*...I'd just about bet the house on it...right now he is an 85 on On3...if they bump that to even an 87 or 88 he'll be .88 or above on the composite...if he camps or has a good season he'll end up a 4* on at least one site and that will get him the composite 4*...

It's the same thing with Perry...he's an 84 on 247...I bet they change that to 87 or 88 before the summer...if he shows out on the camp circuit or in his senior season he'll end up a composite 4* as well...

I don't know how many times this story has to play out before people will stop worrying about the lower ratings this early on

I'm actually not worried about decommitments. I know Sly Smith left us late during the cycle last year, but I feel like UT has done a really good job of holding onto guys once they are in the boat.

Sly Smith felt wobbly and unsure we would have ever landed him if Auburn wasn't rocky.
