Coach Cut just ran thru Cincy...

Rockytop9808 - I'm not going to tell you That your opinion is wrong. I'm telling you my opinion and most of my friends who are vol fans. There are some of my friends who are on board. That's complelty fine. I respect you for it. My own opinion is that it's very hard to get behind a guy that was our 5th choice. Yes he says all the right things. Name drops Peyton manning. Says he's going to bring the best staff in America to Tennessee which I guess means most of the cinci staff, some auburn assistants, and I believe wisconsins wr coach. I expect the response, "well what do you want him to do?" It's simple, do not say things you can't deliver.

He's delivered pretty well everywhere he's coached.

Again I'm saying for him not to say things such as bringing the best in America to Tennessee when it's clearly not the, dare I say, 4the best staff, and that's being very generous, in the sec.

I agree whole heartedly with bigpoppavol. You guys keep saying that he isnt bringing his players with him, but aren't the players he recruited, playing this game vs 6-6 duke? The same duke that hasn't been to a bowl game in 18 years...

Regardless of what anyone wants to talk about or the excuses or reasons made from both sides of pro butch or not on the butch bandwagon, the one plain, simple fact is that he was plan "E," like it or not. To me and most others, it's quite bothersome.

I would really be interested in knowing who people that keep harping on the inadequacies of Hart would prefer to have as our head coach. If Hart is to "blame" for this awful hire, please enlighten us on who would have been better?

Illvol- read other posts bc I listed names. Gruden, gundy, strong, and fedora were all contacted before jones. Yes, they all turned it down or hart didn't want to give in to some demands. Either way, jones was the 5th choice and there is no denying that. He acknowledged it in the press conference.

I don't understand what # choice he was matters except for pride to say we got our first pick. Who cares. Who says the first 4 choices would win as many games in 3 years as CBJ? Because they were first choices? That means success?

Ridiculous. Chances of success for all the ones we were looking at were 50/50. CBJ included. He'll either work out or he won't.

That is true with any employee:rock:

And when he won the Big East championship while being named Big East coach of the year?

How was he relative to his peers that year?

How did he miss the BCS? The conference has been repeatedly represented by garbage and is again this year. Somehow, he's outside looking in. All those conference titles seem to mean second place.

And the influx of papa johns pizza's. Yes, it looks more appealing as you look at it..

But, Do they have a "Mouses Ear"?

I remember several years ago taking a new Japanese colleague, fresh off the plane from Japan there. The very first dancer he saw was buck naked and almost full term pregnant...he just looked at me like WTH? I had no answer :)

Ok he didn't acknowledge it or he did. Either way, Tennessee contacted Gruden. Said no. Gundy was contacted. Said no. Strong, said no. Fedora was contacted and said no. Jones contacted before taking the Colorado job to get out of cinci, said yes. Id say it does matter, especially publicly. Everyone saw how many people didn't want the job. Thank goodness ole butch jones was there to be our knight in shining armor.

Your point was in relation to his peers. My counterpoint gave you two separate and clear distinctions that say he was better than all of his peers.

BTW, Cincy just ended another 10 win season.

He won exactly nothing and coach of theyear in a conference full of fires. Faux conference titles are for Fulmer and Richt. Starting in that conference with the best talent and failing to make a freebie BCS just blows. Your data points are prayer. Your recruiting data actually undermines the point and you're arguing as if you've said UT should be in line for this guy.

fTR, if you're on vollygirl's side, you're probably lost or a blind homer. Good luck with that.
