IMO, Worley needs to run on the read option just a little more. 99 % of the time he hands off to the back. A few more good runs would possibly create some doubt in the defenses reading Worley. They pretty much know he isn't running the ball. But we would be increasing the odds down the road by keeping defenses from loading up the middle. Just looking at the highlights, you can see there is plenty of running room for Worley if he opts to keep the ball.
Those two cats look like total opposites in personality in that pic. Dobbs looks like a serious, conservative thinking mans player, while Fergs has a fly by the seat of your pants, gunslinger swagger look....it will be interesting to see what happens with these guys.
You have to either be a dumba$$ or blind to make that statement. Probably a little of both. Half his tape was him eluding the pass rush and making an accurate throw or taking off with it when the play broke down...and usually after some Houdini-level, Russell Wilson type escapage. What do you base this opinion on - his skin color? His HS highlight tapes were not of a run happy QB.
Crompton never turned a corner, he had one great game against georgia. I think worley played a great game saturday and I hope he improves again next week against SC. But if the coaches go with a freshman at some point then it will hopefully be for good reason.

Per Hubbs:
What if Butch pulls a shocker and starts one of these guys v. USCjr?
Worley ain't the best, but he has heart and I like that. The kid is fighting hard for what he can do. I hope Dobbs is a great in disguise, and we just don't know it.
QB's they have faced? Tahj Boyd and that's it.
I mean unless you are referring to the North Texas QB who still threw up 240 yards on them.
Through 6 games, they've got 1 interception as a team.
If you look at the stats from all their games, EVERY QB puts up 200 yrds.

I know worley played his best half of football against UGA but could we see a freshman coming out of the bye week? This is the first i've heard that the freshman "have a firm grasp" of what to do. Is he hinting at something here?
Last year Butch replaced his starting QB after a win and a 6-2 start?
Yep...that's about the size of it. They are quick to ridicule...saying "Why don't they hire you to coach, instead" or "I trust the coaches before some guy on a forum." Wonder if they are still TRUSTING Doolander now? Huh? Huh?Worley has had two good qtrs in the three games against good football teams. Nothing more nothing less. If he backs those up against USC then we may be ok. That said I would rather roll into next year with a fr qb that has gotten all his mistakes over with and had lots of game experience.
This reminds me of Simms vs Bray, had a bunch of belligerent fans tell those who wanted bray how dumb it was and when it turned out they were wrong you never heard a word from them. Same thing going on now. Kinda like the Doolaid drinkers last year, they did the same thing. I think I'll put my faith in the realist fringe thinkers they are right a hell of a lot more often

Same thing about wanting Randy Shannon to be DC rather than Sunseri. Worst hire in UT history. Coaches make mistakes sometimes. Sometimes they coach scared, and never realize that the best player has been sitting on the bench all the while. I think Bray would have helped us beat LSU in 2010, rather than Simms, but you don't know until you make a ballsy move.
