Much as I've defended Jon, and I really do think he's been an unfair target for a bunch of men who can't stand Daddy working for Mama, the problems with a family package deal are obvious. Espec at departure time.

But my question is can we use no families as a hard and fast restriction when it's a growing thing across WBB? Can't hire Vic bc of Blair? I've always thought if the AD can work thru it so can I.

Because none of the fire Kellie crowd can name a list of five gettable coaches with better results than Kellie. It’s all fun and games running Kellie out of town until you have to find a replacement.

To me, the integrity Kellie brought to the program will be tough to replace. No thuggish behavior, all graduate....hard to beat that!

Im pulling for Hammon, she is only making 1mil a year in WNBA. If Danny plays his cards right he could also get Candice Parker in the ear of Hammon aswell. The only downside to that hire is the recruiting aspect. She would need to hire some assistants that are rockstars on the recruiting trail to learn from.

You gotta go after Hammon first and foremost, no? She may not want to be a college coach---she's been in the pros for a long time, and college is not the same---but, damn, be bold, offer her $2 million and let her think about it. Be ambitious.

In fairness, there were a couple of legal issues with players resulting in discipline or dismissal from the team. But those seemed like regrettable mistakes from which the young people learned more than a pattern of behavior.

Young people who are hurt say and think alot of things. I wouldn't say this door is closed at all. I'm sure Nyla, like all of us, is just waiting to see who the new hire is.

Really do. I think White is as committed to excellence as anyone who has been part of the program.

And tbh. If we had a few not graduate but won more games I’d live. It’s not like the kids are in school for school anymore anyhow.

Miss Reese with all 1.7 of her grade points not attending class because she too famous. Meanwhile she’s still playing basketball and cashing checks.

Do I like it? No. But basically college sports are a semi-pro league now and the education bit is more and more separate all time. If NIL continues in its current direction I maintain universities will have to formally separate from their athletics programs or they will be buried in employment lawsuits form athletes non-stop.

And I think that's just nepotism in general. Some people can't stand it, and in some cases rightfully so. This falls somewhere between "my child is carrying on the family business" (perfectly ok) to "we're getting rare contracts and hiring my wife too" (usually very inappropriate).
