I don't think we should be asked to have roster patience for 24 hours. I want immediate recruiting action, such as bringing own players. That is whole purpose of Kellie's dismissal and this hire. If not able to make recruiting inroads now, don't bother.

My gut doesn’t have patience but my mind says it is what it is. No team changes coaches without a step back unless they already have the players. This team needs better coaching and players.

To expect another coach to never miss a beat in year one the team would have already had the tools on the bench.

CJH first year was better than the previous year even with the mass exodus but only because of how incompetent cornbread was. CKJH was not cornbread level incompetent. It was really year 2 and year 3 before we really started seeing roster improvement. Just the unfortunate reality of changing a coach where the cupboard is left bare.

If one’s measuring stick for this program isn’t final fours on a semi regular basis at least, then that person is wrong.

The reality is that kellie took a top 5 team in talent and produced top 32 results. I could’ve gotten us those results, and for much less money.

My UT junior son says same thing and he just wanted the free tuition for pay……

I think both have positive, Gottlieb would have the players she can bring with her, but Hammon will get the recruits since I think the young players know her and her success and that will get them here.

IMO, hotline is a decent hire, Hammon is the hire of the century. She’s an elite Xs and Os coach, and we have money to recruit.

We should never hire another coach just for their recruiting prowess. Our NIL can get us a top 10 roster every single damn year. Hammon would run circles around nearly everyone.

Hell, once Barnes retires, we should interview her for the guys’ job. She’s that good. She’s the most second most impressive coach I’ve ever met. The first was Pat.

Disagree. It's a new day. Recruiting never stops, esp right now with the portal open. Locations change, but recruiting goes on. I'm not saying get everything done in a week, but there's no reason to not immediately start having portal visits, hearing about the coaches current recruits, etc. We need things to start moving now.

There was no guarantee that Kellie was going to get all of these recruits to fix the roster issues either. I hope whoever it is can bring in some good talent whether that is this year or the next. I hope they can have a balanced roster. I get the feeling that the same ones who lambasted Darth for hoping for Kellie to fail are now the ones secretly hoping things go south fast with the next coach just so they can say “see we should have kept Kellie!”

I just don’t think you can set goals for a coach to accomplish something in 30 days that may not be attainable.

Put a full court press on to get great players yes. But be realistic that is first rule when setting realistic goals.

I don't think it's asking too much at all that the new hire immediately start doing a better job recruiting than Kellie would have done in the portal this year. Isn't that the point of the move?

I get what you’re saying, and I hope for some momentum too. I think we’ll get the clearer picture with hs recruiting(which is where we were missing) by the time the fall comes around though. Hope NIL picks up soon too!

Louisville and VA Tech were both #1 seeds, so losing in the S16 isn't a matter of a tough draw as much as it was the round they were seeded to be eliminated in. To a lesser extent, the same is true for NC State as they were still the higher seed. I doubt drawing UConn or LSU would have led to a better result. There's a direct correlation with team's season performance and their seeding/draw, with each loss being to a higher seeded team.
