Coaching Rankings.

You know what...I didn't even read the last line of his post...truly hilarious stuff...could it happen? Sure, anything is possible, just ask KG.

Is it likely? All signs point to no.

Not to be a negavol, but there is no chance in hell that Pearl will compare with Calhoun.

Why aren't they there now? They were a 5 seed.

Which ones are one and done? There is no year on there that looks anything like this past one for Cal. Hell, he also had X Henry locked up.

And if Henry didn't have a brother playing at KU, he might be playing at UK.

Yet Coach K has an excellent chance to win the title this year................

And while I know how much of a Pearl homer you are, I'm shocked you would say that. You are trying to say Pearl is guarenteed two titles, multiple FF's, and excellent NBA players? I'm sorry, but that is going wayyyyyyyyy beyond the limb.

Compare the men at 50...yes I think it will happen. Pearl will trend upwards with recruiting as he has thus far. When he gets a decade of tobias harris like recruits he will compare favorably to calhoun.

Some of the people doubting him said he would be gone in 3 years, couldn't recruit, couldn't coach halfcourt defense etc...

When I said pearl would advance past the sweet 16 this year delusional and sheep were two of the nicer words used to mock me....

So with all the other things aside. BPV and Hat, I want you to be totally honest in your response. Take Izzo vs. Cal and each of them get to coach their most talented team that they have ever had, who wins?

I'm sorry, but no matter what coach it is, you are talking about a coach that has NEVER made the Final Four and was close ONCE. This isn't like Roy Williams, who had been there before and been so close, or Jim Boeheim. This is a coach that has never, ever made the Final Four, has one Elite Eight appearance, and has been bounced four times from the Tourney as the favorite in the game. It's not like his resume screams "Guarenteed to have two national titles in career."

Tough call. Cal's title game team had some awful fortune in losing the title. MSU won in what I'd call a down field.

Cal is clearly the better recruiter and izzo the better college coach. Combined, I take Izzo, but this KY team as juniors would kill that Cleaves led squad.

Ramaar Smith, Tyler Smith, Duke Crews, Scotty Hopson were all highly sought after.

None are in the NBA, for whatever reason.

If he doesn't start developing that talent to the next level, that talent will look elsewhere.

You did not compare pearl at 50 to calhoun at 50...also how is our last loss not close to a final four? Are you joking? What about losing to odens buckeyes?

According to MHF, we will have multiple NBA starters by 2013 and Pearl will have cured cancer.

Izzo. I'm not either of the ones that you ask but I couldn't help myself.

I personally think Izzo wins 8 out of 10 times. Izzo's 2000 team against ANY of Cal's teams. Cal cant hold Izzo's jock strap, period.

Not to mention the fact that he will have a better resume than Jim Calhoun.

I'm assuming he will be placed upon the same pedestal as Bobby Lutz and Jerry Wainwright.

Since he has changed his style I think he will be more successful at developing talent.

With that said, of all the players that he has recruited, none are playing NBA ball and only one ( I believe ) are playing pro ball of any sort.

Not really a great track record.
