Coaching Rankings.

Take off your orange colored glasses everybody and look at what Billy Donovan has done and tell me he isn't a top 5 coach. I know I hate florida too but even I will admit that Donovan has done nothing but win. Hell even in those two NIT years he won 20+ games.

Winning 20+ games when you play 35-40 every year isn't a big deal.

Pretty sure Calipari has never coached at Wichita State. Could be wrong tho.....
You're the one acting like it is inexcusable to lose to a team with fewer NBA players than you have on your roster. Of course, that makes the ''08 NCAA Final problematic for Cal bashers, since Kansas will end up having several more guys in the league off their team that year than Memphis had.

Who would I hire today?. Lets see.Calipari (His teams have made eleven NCAA tournament appearances, including reaching the Sweet Sixteen seven times, the Elite Eight five times, the Final Four two times(both vacated), and the championship game once (Memphis). To think that Cal is better than Coach K(3 NCAA Championships, 11 Final Fours (tied for second most in history), 12 ACC Regular Season Titles, and 12 ACC championships over 30 seasons at Duke.) or Izzo (Izzo has led the Spartans to the 2000 NCAA Division I National Championship, six Final Fours, and six Big Ten Championships in his first 15 years at Michigan State.) is absolutely insane.

I just told you I wasn't comparing resumes, and then you proceeded to compare resumes.

Had Kentucky hired either Izzo or Coach K instead of Calipari, the team wouldn't have been as good this year. Dispute that.

My bad, in 06-07 they only had Rodney Carney(16th pick), CDR(40th pick), Robert Dozier(60th Pick), and Joey Dorsey(33rd pick). Same in 07-08, minus Rodney Carney, plus Derrick Rose(1st Pick). I guess he really overachieved with that talent......

As everyone here but you understood, I was talking about '06-'07. Who's the lottery pick on that team?

Already admitted i was wrong with "lottery pick" statement regarding 06-07. Although CDR, Rodney Carney, Robert Dozier, and Joey Dorsey is far from lacking in talent......thanks for ignoring that i had already responded to that

So, you do think Steve Fisher is a better coach than Bruce Pearl. Thanks for playing.

Are you blind or did you not read my first comment about Fisher? Those wins never happened players were payed. Any xheating involved disqualifies you as being a top coach. As far as im concerned. I could be a great coach if the NCAA let me pay players thousands of dollars to come to my school.

Not as talented, probably not as good. In the long run, better.

The '89 national title at Michigan still stands. Thanks for confirming my assumption that you haven't the first clue what you are talking about.

Yes because all of them have been just great in the NBA.

Don't forget this guy thinks Rick Barnes is a better coach than Calipari. That one has to be up there.
What? You didn't see the great NCAA run Texas made with Kevin Durant, DJ Augustin, and Damion James on their roster?

And that team won the national title, which is what a team with multiple NBA players and a great coach is supposed to do . whats your point?

I'm still not convinced he is even being serious. Ashton Kutcher may bust in at any moment.

Boeheim is a hall of famer, a class act, a great coach and recruiter. Taking Calipari over him is just silly.
Syracuse was banned from postseason play for a year due to recruiting violations under his watch. That ever happen to Cal? I like Boeheim, but the revisionist history of his career after Carmelo won him a title is a bit humorous.

So hypothetically, if you were hiring a coach you wouldnt look at the candidates resumes when making your choice? You would only look at recent accomplishments? Also, are you trying to say that Kentucky wouldnt have been as good as they were with Coach K or Izzo at the helm? Im pretty sure both of these coaches are in the Final 4 right now with less talent than Cal had this year......

I'm aware of the ban. And no it has not happened to Cal. He knows how to run his cheating like the mob. Make sure the dirt is on everyone's hands but his.
