Coaching Rankings.

TN gator Hater you will have to excuse all these idiots. Its all what have you done for me lately. And apparently winning the right way with no cheating involved doesn't matter to these people. Yeah Cal is a great recruiter because he cheats. If he played by the same rules as Izzo or someone else he wouldn't be that great a recruiter.

I'm sorry. I'm laughing so hard at the idea of Billy Donovan, whose winning rosters were stocked by the caucasian WWW, Bret Bearup, running a clean program I can't concentrate.

By the way, this is the closest I've ever seen hat to criticizing Calipari, this indrect condemnation of WWW. It's amazing how much he'll bend logic in order to justify his fawning of certain coaches whose faults he would devastate otherwise.

Syracuse was banned from postseason play for a year due to recruiting violations under his watch. That ever happen to Cal? I like Boeheim, but the revisionist history of his career after Carmelo won him a title is a bit humorous.

No Cal just had two seasons retroactively vacated for violations. I'm sure there's some kind of qualifying difference there that makes Cal wonderful, regardless, and Beoheim a cheat, surely.

I'm not sure how anyone can't say Izzo isn't the best coach in the country. 6 FF in the last 12 years and a NC? Come on now.

I would certainly make an argument for him...but he only has one national title to show for it. Certainly is one of the top three, IMO.

That has nothing to do with the fact that you said that billy donovan is a top 5 coach. Which quite possibly may be the dumbest statement ive read today. Actually its a toss-up between that and kidbourbon saying KY wouldnt have been as good with Izzo or Coach K as coach this year as they were with Cal as coach. Both are gems.

Since when did one poster arguing Cal as #1 qualify as a majority that don't care about winning within the rules?

I agree. The man just knows how to coach.

Here's a question. With the success Brad Stevens has had recently, how long until one of the big boy schools come calling his name? And do you think he would leave Butler, or try to build something like Mark Few?

Yeah HAT defends Cal who has had 2 final fours vacated but slams Donovan for being dirty and has never had anything vacated. I don't get it.

I hope he leaves when a bigger named school comes calling. This guy isn't another Lickliter. He can coach.

So using this logic genius how is Donovan not top 5? I didn't say #1 I just said top 5.

Izzo has made the NCAA tourney consistently and made it to at least the second weekend more often than not. Donovan, outside of the two titles and Final Four appearance, has not consistently made the NCAA's and, when he did, his teams lose on the first weekend. Not that hard to understand.

Remember, there are roughly 200 JUCO players who could beat J.P. Prince like a pinata. Obviously he was right about Jurick and Passley, I’m just saying his word is far from gospel.

True. With Stevens' age and the success he has had with players not highly touted, I can see him being one of the elite coaches once he's at a big time school and starts pulling in big time recruits.

Has not consistently made the NCAA's??????????? I guess 9 in a row is not consistent. Are you serious?

Izzo's streak is at 13 and counting. Donovan had his 9 in a row streak broken after the 2nd title. He is now at one in a row.

Are you seriously going to keep arguing this?

I just told you I wasn't comparing resumes, and then you proceeded to compare resumes.

Had Kentucky hired either Izzo or Coach K instead of Calipari, the team wouldn't have been as good this year. Dispute that.

So hypothetically, if you were hiring a coach you wouldnt look at the candidates resumes when making your choice? You would only look at recent accomplishments? Also, are you trying to say that Kentucky wouldnt have been as good as they were with Coach K or Izzo at the helm? Im pretty sure both of these coaches are in the Final 4 right now with less talent than Cal had this year......

KIDBOURBON, I'm still patiently awaiting your response and your brilliant logic behind this statement. Please enlighten me........

According to him he is the only knowledgeable basketball mind in the world. Don't forget how Goins shouldn't have gotten a scholarship either.

I used to also believe Donovan was a pretty damn good coach after those two titles. But after looking more closely at what he's done immediately before those titles and after them, I realized it was just an abberation. He was lucky enough to haul in that recruiting class AND lucky enough that they all bypassed the NBA draft after the first title.

I don't think you understand. Im saying donovan is top 5. I'm not comparing him to Izzo, I never said he was better than Izzo. Izzo is top 2 or 3 Donovan is top 5. Anything else to clear up?
