Colin Kaepernick sits during national anthem

If you think the Patriots flag and the US flag are comparable then we have noting more to discuss. I know you meant comparable argument, but its not even close to a comparable argument. I understand most people now days have little respect for anything much less a flag. Yes, under the context that the US flag is simply another flag then you are correct.

And also yes, not standing is the same as pissing for most people as he will soon find out.

Are you kidding me? The Patriots' flag is a symbolic representation of their organization and fan base...the good and the bad.

The American flag is a symbolic representation of our government and our national community.

It's the same ****ing thing. When I don't stand for the Patriots' flag, I am not saying "**** Jerod Mayo.", I am saying "as a whole, that flag doesn't deserve my reverance." It's exactly the same statement. You just worship one flag and not the other, so you think it isn't comparable.

Many good men died fighting under those colors so that people like you could have the freedom to disrespect it, compare it to the New England Patriots flag or even burn it. The military personnel salute it everyday of their service so to say not standing during the anthem does not disrespect the military is ridiculous. The 2 can't be separated. Of course if you have no respect for common symbols then you will never understand.

LOL, so you admit that is how you interpret it?

Well a symbol can mean different things to different people. To me it represents our nation, not our government. If it represents oppression to you then fine, but be prepared to defend yourself. If that's all you see when you look at the flag you have a pretty sad worldview.

I have never disrespected the flag, so....

Anyway it goes it looks like if he gets cut by the 49ers the other team front offices are going to basically ban him.

It's not the flag numbnuts. And it certainly isn't worship. To compare Jerod Mayo, a football player to a soldier who put his life on the line in Afghanistan is pathetic even by your 'standards'. And you are not saying the flag doesn't deserve your reverence, you are saying that what it represents does not deserve it. Sometimes your density is astounding.

How is it not "worship"?

"adoration or devotion comparable to religious homage, shown toward a person or principle."

For those defending the current anthem, do you really truly love that song?" Legend, 37, tweeted. "I don't and I'm very good at singing it. Like, one of the best."

"My vote is for 'America the Beautiful,'" he continued. "'Star-Spangled Banner' is a weak song anyway."

America the Beautiful would have been a better national anthem and of course the Turkey should have been our national bird.

Trump tells people he wants to change things because America isn't great and everyone cheers. CK doesn't stand because he doesn't think America's great, wants to see change and everyone loses their minds.

I find all of this hilarious.

CK is saying this country has never been great; Trump is saying it has been great and it can be great again.

CK is saying he doesn't respect this country; Trump is saying he does and wants to help it.

I could give two craps about CK's actions and I don't support Trump but this Internet meme level comparison lacks validity.

No, D4H. You have it wrong. Teaching black pride will cause a "we have to stick together" mentality. The result is simple, segregation. Black business owners and manager will have pride of their pigment shoved into their heads from schooling and will act on the lessons and experiences.

Can you name a curriculum, media outlet for children or main stream entity that directly teaches kids black skin color is bad and white skin color is good? I'd venture to say you can't.

Reflecting back on my schooling, all I have learned is how sorry white people should be for slavery. All I have heard is that anything negative toward black people is racism. I'm 28. These lessons aren't fresh.

There you have it. The only thing we're ever taught at school about black history is SLAVERY. And that is the problem. All our people are ever taught is you were slaves. And that has led to a deep seeded inferiority complex that is one of the major reasons for the lack of progress in the black community.

If our kids were taught our TRUE HISTORY. That we come from the cradle of civilization, Africa. That we are the original humans. That our people colonized the world. That we created the first civilizations. That we ruled over Europe at one time when the Moors reigned. And so on.

If our kids are taught our true history, then maybe there wouldn't be such a lack of self-respect and pride in the black community. You may not see the need for black pride education. But most black people do. We need to be the ones to teach our children. Not white people.

Thought the cradle of civilization was Mesopotamia.

If your people are the first people then your people were the originators of oppression. Congrats.

Why should someone be proud of their color? You cannot control what color you are. You cannot control "your people's history". Youre skin color does nothing except look different. That's all.

Be proud of your personal accomplishments. Be proud of involvement in your community. Teaching pride in the color of your skin will just continue to perpetuate the "us vs them" mentality that is growing today.

There would be no need for black pride if white supremacy didn't teach us to hate ourselves. Black people in America (and around the world given the power of American media) have been brainwashed into believing everything black is bad and everything white is good.

If there was no racism telling black people they are inferior, we wouldn't need educate our kids to be proud of who they are.
