College Football is officially a joke

Shows how the ACC is viewed. Committee got it right…don’t struggle with Louisville while Bama beats the 2 time defending champion.

Bama won by a field goal. That’s a struggle. FSU won by two possessions.

Louisville was held to 3 points - 7 sacks, 14 tackles for loss, 10 broken up passes. 189 yards rushing against a stacked box. FSU dominated with a first time starting QB.

I wouldn’t care so much if any of you Bama fanboys knew what you were talking about.

Everyone knows that Nick Sab...I mean Alabama has much more of a claim to the CFP than FSU.

"You know.." isn't an argument. Getting into the playoff is based upon what you've earned, not some theoretical outcome. Again, why play at all if the results are meaningless?
You’re wrong…. You have no argument.

The selection committee ranks the teams based on the members’ evaluation of the teams’ performance on the field, using conference championships won, strength of schedule, head-to-head results, and comparison of results against common opponents to decide among teams that are comparable.

SELECTION COMMITTEE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Rank the top 25 teams and assign the top four to Playoff Semifinal sites.
  • Assign teams to selected New Year’s bowls.
    • Create competitive matchups.
    • Attempt to avoid rematches of regular-season games and repeat appearances in specific bowls.
    • Consider geography.

FSU ooc Florida, LSU, Southern Miss, and North Alabama
Michigan ooc East Carolina, UNLV, and Bowling Green
Washington ooc Tulsa, Boise St and Michigan St.
Bama ooc Texas, Chattanooga, MTSU, South FL.
Texas ooc Rice, Bama, and Wyoming.

Looks like FSU played the better ooc schedule.

The ACC had 3 teams with overall losing records where the SEC had 5 so please explain how we're such a superior conference. They were also 10-9 ooc where the SEC went 7-9.

Facts over perception.

More facts.

If FSU got in, it wojld be just another semi final game that is 70-6......FSU is terrible now with the 3rd string guy. Yeah they did win last night, but remember Louisville got boat raced by Kentucky.
You keep saying this but how is 38-31 getting boat raced? Did Bama boat race Auburn the same week?

Bama beat the two time champ who won 29 straight. FSU beat just Louisville #16. Dominating is not 10-3 heading into the 4th. If we are discussing fanboys and knowing what we are talking about. Thanks for the meaningless defensive stats though.

The ACC had one decent team. Maybe 2. That’s a stretch. While overall the SEC as a whole was down, the top half of the SEC would make most of the ACC look silly. So while your numbers are used to push an agenda it’s simply no where close to true. Throw FSU or Louisville into a schedule with Bama, uga, lsu, ole miss, Tenn, etc and they quickly become 6-8 win programs. Your numbers are skewed by the vandys, Kentucky of the SEC

TCU was not a top 4 team last year. Never were. They never should have been selected. It was a joke. They were a "Conference champ" of a crappy conference just like FSU So what. FSU without Jordan Travis is not remotely close a top 4 team right now.
Didn't the champ of that "crappy conference" beat the piss out of our conference champ this year?

I have an excellent damn argument. It involves providing an undefeated team with the opportunity to achieve a goal they should be provided before a one loss team attempts to do the same.

Guidelines, like laws, are still subject to discretion and the committee looks at some of their guideline while putting lesser emphasis on others. Their hands were not tied and, by all rights, FSU earned their spot over Bama, which should be eminently obvious to anyone.

They haven't been beaten. Alabama has. Guess who should get to the front of the line?

Not the team with the #55 strength of
schedule. Not FSU fault the conference is weak this year.

What is an argument is the committee who says best teams, not “what’s deserved”. They also deem injuries play a factor. FSU plays in a terrible conference right now. Not much they can do about it, but it definitely cost them. All this will be put to bed when Georgia beats their eyeballs shut

Look at you trying to compare beating the two time defending champ and beating Louisville. Comical. I hate Bama. But I’m also realistic enough to admit they’re a better team than FSU right now.

That team you're calling a joke beat LSU by four touchdowns. They were undefeated against the mighty SEC.
And that same team with their backup QB barely escaped Louisville. A team that got beat by Kentucky which is a team that got beat by UT.

Bama would have absolutely destroyed FSU in a matchup today

Two 1 loss conference champions in over an undefeated conference champion?
Gone are the days of results on the field. 2 years in a row Bama has gotten a bump for the "how they look". It's no longer just about winning but people's opinions truly matter more. The game has become down right pathetic. College Football is a complete joke on all levels.

No, that would be irrelevant. The case for getting to the playoffs was already set.

"The best teams" makes the games irrelevant. Why does it matter if you win or lose in, say, a conference game if someone says it's more important that you look good doing it than simply winning?

Do we make the "98 title game if "the best teams" is the criteria?
