And it won’t get any better if Penny Hardaway and comes in and is a bust. He’s very far from a sure fire hire. Pretty much the opposite

Nobody ever got as lucky as Memphis did when Tech hired away Pastner with his $15m buyout or whatever it was.

They should pull the plug on Tubs and hire Penny and let’s renew the rivalry.

Many of those wins came against very poor teams. Tubby was never a fit at Memphis. Fan base has no confidence in him. Donations are down. Attendance is way down. It would be financial suicide to not fire him.

Lots of Vol fans wish CRB would promote school more, Tubby is 10 times worse than Barnes in that area.

Tubby has not lost the fan base, he never had the fan base.

Memphis isn’t so bad of a program they have to resort to throwing up a prayer on a first time coach. The fact their fans are resorting to that is pathetic

Don’t get me wrong. I would love nothing more than Memphis hiring Lil Penny and see them permanently fade into oblivion. Never win 20 games again. But at the same time I do feel a little bad for them, because what else do people have in Memphis?

Exactly, if Penny is hired the FedEx Forum will be packed from Day One. Plus he brings several 4 and 5 star players immediately.

Penny bringing Wiseman with him is an assumption but if they hire him they’ll fall into oblivion and never win 20 games again.

I have lived in Memphis and near Memphis for several years and you are underestimating the power of Penny. They would sell 4-5,000 more season tickets almost instantly if he became coach.
He might be a bust as coach, but Tubby is going to sink UM basketball financially if he stays another year. Tubby has sucked all the life out of Memphis Tiger basketball.
