College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

Temple didn't make a shot in the last 7:18 and only made 1 free throw. How crazy to only score 1 point in the final 8 minutes, on the road vs #1 in the nation with only a 7 point lead at that point. And you make it stick for the win.

That said, has Houston beaten anyone of note besides Virginia this year?

Definitely been a great week for us. Won’t hop Houston, but if they lose again next week and we beat Texas then we should hop them

Houston has great stats…….. however I wonder if their stats are boosted because of the league they play?

don’t get me wrong, I know they’re a good team. However are their O stats slightly exaggerated and possibly their D stats as well because of who they play? I’d say at least a bit.

I think their offense is overrated in the stats.

Their defense is elite BUT it is predicated on pressure and traps. That can be exploited by the right team (even Temple did pretty well on that note). Their defense looks flashy but I prefer our defense that is better straight up with elite rotation help.

I think Purdue and Houston are a bit overrated, IMO. They will be trendy Final Four picks because they likely will each only lose 2-3 games and will be 1 seeds, but I don’t think either team is anything impressive. Purdue seems to be rather one-dimensional. If you limit Edey, they seem to struggle to score if he isn’t getting 30+ points.

Edey has only scored 30 4x this year. But he’s had 15 double doubles in 18 games.

What on earth am I looking at here. Virginia 3???

At this point, it’s hard for anyone to deny that his rankings are anything other than purposeful hot take machines meant to drive clicks. He clearly isn’t serious with this stuff and only does it to stoke reactions from people.

No doubt……..Illinois jumping into the rankings at 13-6 with a win over Minnesota and a 15 point loss to Indiana.

UConn at 19 while losing 5 of their past 7.

Iowa ST is another good one…….they just got beat by OK-ST.

We will see a more “realistic” ranking tomorrow.

Agree on Purdue, but I'm still on the Houston wagon. They're really good, and built a lot like Tennessee is.

agree..
If Edey could hit from 6 feet plus Purdue would be unstoppable but He flat out cant.
if Edey is off then Purdue is in huge trouble if he cant get to the rim consistently or gets in foul trouble they become quite average
