College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

Seeing BYU's short heave at the buzzer made me think of a question: if the ball leaves the player's hand before the buzzer, hits the floor after the buzzer and bounces into the basket -- does it count? Or is it dead when it hits the floor?

These refs in the Iowa State/BYU game lol

Edit: That last possession for Iowa State was pathetic. I'm not scared of this team at all.
If we make it to the elite 8 in that West bracket I'm not sure at all they will necessarily be who we play.

Dead when it hits the floor, imo. But, that's just an educated guess

I would say dead ball once the ball hits the ground, but I believe if someone heaves it all the way across the court and it comes up short but then bouncees in the goal, the shot counts so long as the ball bouncers before the buzzer sounds. IIRC, if the ball hits inside the arc it's a 2, so that leads me to believe that it is counted as another shot somehow.
I don't even see how this could even happen (what you're talking about) , but if it did I think it would be the same thing.
Would have to leave the floor before the buzzer sounds.

Can't believe Vandy is getting rolled by Arkansas without Thiero 👀

The refs in this Iowa State /BYU game are absolutely horrible. I thought SEC refs made some head scratchers....
I’ve always thought 7 conference wins was the magic number to make the dance so I think UGA and Arkansas are now locks, which means 12 SEC teams will be in. Texas has to beat OU their last game to hit that mark. While the SEC is crazy tough, I don’t see the committee letting a team in that went 6-12 in their conference. 7-11 is the floor imo.
