College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

Ok, if you could only pick an SEC team to win the NCAA tournament, who would it be?

It feels like you’ve asked a variation of this question multiple times the past week or two, and that you’re just fishing for a bunch of Tennessee fans to tell you that Florida is the best team in the SEC.

The field would include 2 other 1 seeds though…

I’m aware. But I trust Auburn/Duke more than Houston who I think is a bit overrated and will be bounced early. It’s a tough question because I don’t think the gap between Auburn/Duke and the field is as large this year as UConn/Purdue were last year. Ultimately, I think the field probably wins because it’s 66 teams to pick from instead of two, but if you’re asking me to go to Vegas and put my money on someone, it’s probably one of the two teams that have been the best for the entire regular season.

Also me personally, I would never bet on Tennessee anyway. Just bad juju imo

I do fine it weird how many non Vol fans frequent this board.

He’s absolutely not in the same league. Broome is fine in college but he’s a 6-10 big that plays below the rim. That doesn’t cut it in the NBA. Reminds me a lot of Armando Bacot who is stuck in the G league.

What your saying isn’t a stretch, but at 6’ 10” Broome could be a center or PF in the NBA. He has good touch and some outside range. The Celtics used Al Horford and Robert Williams regularly when Grant Williams played for them, who both are listed at 6’ 9”.

I don’t see him being an all star, but most first round picks don’t get to be that since it’s usually the same 24 people for most of their careers.

I'm fishing for an honest opinion. I am surprised there are not more Auburn answers.

But, I ask because I have my own opinion and am kind of checking on whether it's due to homerism or if others see the same thing. So, a few people from a fan base that I know hates Florida and that school also gave Florida it's worst loss of the season, and some of those people are confirming that opinion, I feel better that my judgment is not completely skewed by my bias.

So, that's why I ask

I do hope the SEC proves they are that good in the tourney. I remember we all thought the SEC was that good in football as well.
This is very different than football. In football, the SEC didn’t do all that well out of conference. Basketball has been a far different story with the SEC 54-15 against the Big 10, Big 12 and ACC.
