I’ve seen UVA coach’s name pop up on their message boards. He was an assistant for Manieri a while back

I am sure they are but that means nothing. Most major schools in the SEC can pay similar money, unless you actually believe Ed Orgeron was their first choice for football which brings in enormous amounts of money compared to baseball

Based on salaries and time at the schools, I don’t see why the HCs of Arizona, Tennessee, MSU, Texas and UVA couldn’t all be on the table if we are talking about coaches in Omaha.

The only coach that makes over a million dollars is Corbin. The HCs of Stanford and NC State have been at their schools forever.

I don’t think a program with the prestige of LSU would go the assistant coach route, but who knows what’ll happen at this point.

I don’t think so. Coach Anderson has made it clear that he was done with the responsibilities of the Head Coach job—specifically doing the speeches, PR stuff, and administrative BS that comes with the big job. He loves coaching, developing players, and recruiting—as the top Assistant, he can focus on what he truly enjoys without all the headaches. He’s a stud!

No way. All of those guys in Omaha would want to be the only head coach anywhere they went. None would share the job.

There is no way the next LSU coach isn't a current HC unless the first 20 or so names on their board turn them down

Yes, he's implying Brian O'Connor. O'Connor is in Mainieri coaching tree, so he has LSU ties.

It's definitely not over until a contract is signed for sure. In my opinion, up to two weeks is a long time for Woodward to wait only to be told "No"
