I'm really concerned about our QB situation. I love Coach Jones and I'm sure Worley's a great kid BUT.....I don't think he's the long term answer. Yes, he can "manage" the offense and make the intermediate throw (although not very accurately)...but I seriously doubt he's going to be the playmaker that we need under center. His arm strength seems to be a serious issue, as does his ability to handle pressure in the pocket. I'm sure many may disagree and say "he's young, it takes time, yada yada...but I've seen too many young and inexperienced QBs make serious noise for their respective teams. I'm betting we have more "talent" waiting in the wings....even if they are "young and inexperienced" themselves. Go Vols!
Since early July, I have been saying that Worley will lose his job after the Florida game. Peterman will be the q.b., starting with the South Alabama game. Then once the season is over, Worley will transfer to another college to try to find a starting job. ( Nick Stephens, Brandon Stewart)
Once we play a close game, in which we lose the game due to a couple of incomplete passes that were obvious wide open touchdowns, had they been caught, then Worley will be benched.
Worley understands the offense and he reacts, rather than thinks about decisions. So, that is a very good thing, but he can't get the ball to the receivers.
Peterman may not know the offense in and out, but the passes he does throw will be accurate and in the air and not on the receivers shoe tops.
