No. Just realistic about how the media and academics portray conservatives vs liberals.

I don't know that much about Bachmann's "IQ" or her motives or her thoughts of you and me. I am pretty certain however that you don't know either. In as much as she supports and will enact policies that will promote the constitutional ideals of freedom, rights, and personal responsibility... I really don't care what she thinks of you or me. I do not need or want her to "like" me. I want her and everyone else in Congress to reverse the advances of Progressivism/liberalism/statism so that my children inherit a more free and prosperous nation than I did.

Educate yourself on what Progressivism is. It is and was not "progress". It was a massive regression away from freedom and personal sovereignty. Because of ties to eugenicists and an infatuation with fascism, Progressives adopted the lable "liberal". In the classic geopolitical sense, they aren't "liberal" at all. They are statists.

Yeah, you wouldn't care if the leaders of this country thought we were all morons. It hasn't blown up in our face in the past two administrations or anything.

Just watched her on Wallace's show on Fox. There some areas where I think she showed a lack of depth, but overall I think she did very well. I was impressed. She's going to be a contender for the nomination.

Have to wonder, if it becomes her versus Romney, will it end up being about his religion? I think that would be a shame.

Why not make it about BOTH of their religions? She's a religious nutcase and he has magic underwear. I'd take Romney on that one.

Oh yeah. Anyone that doesn't want to force their religion on me. Plenty of nice Americans are religious and not nutcases, they just know when it's appropriate.

Can't argue with that. I'm constantly amazed at people that don't realize that "Here's what I believe" will get them a lot farther than "Here's what you should do".

Uh huh. Compare Bachmann and Romney - which one brings their religious views into their campaign and which doesn't? Religion and politics are the world's two most divisive entities. When they're combined it's infinitely worse.

VOLatile, you know that I'm a religious person, so I'm not saying this out of disdain for religion.

I am VERY wary of individuals that constantly want to remind everyone just how religious they are. In my experiences, these people are disingenuous or want something- if a politician they just want a vote. If one is truly religious, it will show in how they live their life. No need to constantly comment on the depths of their faith.

There is an equal danger in those who are very motivated by religion but won't admit it or who will downplay it to gain advantage. I think there is a well-founded suspicion out there that some of the current GOP crop are in that class.

I thought she was just sarah palin 2.0 when I first saw her too but she's beginning to grow on me. I don't know yet if shell get my vote in the primary but she's impressed me so far. I just don't want another mr. potato candiate like romney

This is why I am wary of people whose campaigns are based on "god, the bible, and guns". Lacks effort, imo. You do need to get the base votes - but pandering and making it the focal point of a campaign ...sigh.

A local former US Representative, David Davis, couldn't speak without reminding the audience that he was a devout Christian every other sentence. He was defeated in a primary by Phil Roe 4 years ago or somewhere near that time frame.

I hated Davis. His 'I'm the most pious of all' schtick was extremely tiresome. My opinion of Roe is better, but he isn't a home run candidate, imo.

I'm of the opinion that if you can't argue the issues (for example: the current economy, jobs, etc.) than you shouldn't run at all. People who base their whole campaigns on guns and the bible have no business being in the race.
