What does the associate judgeship do? Prepare them to run the district? I know there is a great deal that goes into being a district judge. Office management, handling employees I'm curious as to what else they do. Any info?

DCCourts.gov says there’s a chief judge for each of those courts. The Superior Court is a trial court, so the chief judge probably just has some administrative responsibilities.

Associate probably just means not the chief. I think technically RBG, Thomas, Gorsuch, Breyer, etc are associate justices of the Supreme Court.

So he was just a run of the mill Trial judge and then moved up to run of the mill appellate judge and now trial judge again at a bigger court.

I guess the Flynn Prosecution will be the precedent used for the DIMs that all lied as well. Comey, Brennan, Clapper, McCabe, Page, Strzok, etc.
