What are the facts of this case? 5 black officers involved. 1 black guy died a few days after? Allegedly beaten so bad to succumb to injuries? Is that confirmed? Idk anything about it.
I just watched a video of Memphis. The Antifa crowd is already there penned up in stockades waiting to be released to do mayhem and chaos. Black clothes, black masks, black hats, oh yeah this is on.I don't think anything happens honestly. The cops already fired and charged for what they did. Not sure what their is to protest
You left off some very important detailsThe police officers are members of the SCORPION squad, who go into high crime areas, sometimes in unmarked cars, making traffic stops, confiscating weapons, and making arrests. They deal with the worst of the worst.
The dead dude in question ran from police, which is stupidity.
As a person who also deals with the public in healthcare, people will say all kinds of crazy stuff to you and be condescending, they aren’t feeling well and you have to be mature enough to handle it, I’ve also been hit a few times by patients with dementia.. old folks are strong lolAgreed, and it would be nice to have an answer for that. I guess as human beings we've learned from birth to try and argue our way out of trouble ... we all did it as kids with our parents. Cops should expect some of that, and roll with it. If somebody gets physically abusive or tries to flee, that's a problem; but it sure doesn't justify more than the minimum physical restraint to end it. If it's just words, then cops have to rise above it - comes with the job.
And the family has said they are satisfied with the process and the charges. But there are always professional protestors who have a vested interest in stirring things up. So I do expect some noise. Update: The dummies have stopped traffic on I-55 near downtown at the moment.I don't think anything happens honestly. The cops already fired and charged for what they did. I've heard the same rumor. Which actually makes more sense if they didn't stop him for any alleged crimeAnd the family has said they are satisfied with the process and the charges. But there are always professional protestors who have a vested interest in stirring things up. So I do expect some noise. Update: The dummies have stopped traffic on I-55 near downtown at the moment.
I would be careful though before I spouted off about any of this. I’m not going to repeat them but let’s just say that rumors are circulating that this may have been personal for one of the officers. From what I can tell, they had no reason to stop him. Considering the beating he got for basically no reason, the rumors of it being “personal” may have some legs. If it is that, I’m thinking it will come out. One of those cops is going to spill the beans to get a better deal. Two have already said they are pleading Not Guilty and one’s attorney said his client wasn’t the key perpetrator. And I think the other responders didn’t intervene because, as another poster said, they were intimidated. It just sounds like more than a routine stop. There was something else going on. We shall see if that’s all true. Regardless, there doesn’t appear to be a valid reason for the guy to be beaten to death and the officers should be held to account.
Yep. Saw the same interview with the Chief. One thing is for sure. She saw enough on the video to fire all of them immediately and charge them. She didn’t mess around.Supposedly it was for reckless driving but the Chief keeps saying they have not been able to substantiate that he was actually driving recklessly.
Difficult for me to believe that five black police officers get fired by a black police chief in this city and then charged with second degree murder over a “nothing burger”. The Chief has said that she will support her officers to the hilt if they are doing the right thing. They obviously were not. This Rodney King 2.0 video sure looks like a big nothing burger to me.
