Crime Ridden Memphis

There are enough people on scene that they should have been able to effectively restrain and cuff or zip tie him. The fact they didn't makes me wonder how badly they really wanted him under control.
Agreed, it’s weird, something is off

As anyone that has read this forum for very long knows, I'm not a staunch supporter of the police as witnessed by the posts I've made in the "protect and serve" thread.
While the cops in this incident didn't act in the best way possible, I don't think they committed murder. The decedent fought with the police and ran from them, which ratcheted up the adrenaline to level 5. Maybe I haven't watched enough video to become outraged, but I don't see this as a burn the city down event.

Lol

I normally support police officers, but after watching this, I’m not quite sure I’m on these officers side. The suspect had not committed a crime that I would say warranted that type of aggression. Then, not a soul on Earth deserves to be held up and beaten to death by anyone, especially those charged with protecting the public. This almost seems more like a hit than anything else. Makes me question the entire thing. It’s sad that humans are unable of treating each other better than this.

I'm typically the guy that says you should have listened to police commands but I'm not sure these officers ever game him a chance.

I’m with you on this. I can’t fault the guy for running away when he had the chance. Anyone would be scared shotless with the way they approached and pulled him out of the car.

You’re just wrong. You resist arrest and run from police you shouldn’t be just let go regardless of the offense.
Okay, don’t get all huffy puffy… I would not personally ever run from the police.. but I am trying to wrap my mind around these particular circumstances… my Mom had to be escorted by police to her car when she worked in Memphis in the 70s.. that place is dangerous as h3ll

It's not a burn the city down event as the 5 officers have been charged with murder. What's to riot about? A riot here proves what most have accused rioters of... Not caring about the incident just wanting to burn and loot.

Watch all videos in order, I think you’ll be outraged.

Same, but I think both parties are at fault
, but I would have let him run off.. dang, couldn’t catch him
I just saw a camera angle where he wasn't complying the initial confrontation. If he would have just let them cuff him the outcome would have been different.

But that is neither here nor there, they didn't do anything to deescalate the situation, they came in hot and got hotter. They didn't even really try to stop him from running off it seems like. This is really a strange and sad interaction.

It didn't appear he was compliant with their commands once removed from the car and again as he was captured.

Strange and sad… exactly… poor training (I’m guessing) on the part of the officers and also a person not respecting authority =bad outcomes…shocking

He seemed scared out of his mind and didn’t know why the heck it was happening, I can understand that. The police should have never let it get to that point.

Yes. It appeared he was definitely that. There are multiple ways to subdue someone in that situation, but there was an obvious lack of protocol.
