Crime Ridden Memphis

There are enough people on scene that they should have been able to effectively restrain and cuff or zip tie him. The fact they didn't makes me wonder how badly they really wanted him under control.
All five of the cops charged are over 200 lbs. Nichols is described as “150 lbs soaking wet”. They could have easily controlled him. For some reason, they didn’t want to. It may very well have been personal with one of the cops and he brought several of his buddies with him.

We should end the don't comply, get what you deserve narrative. There's a lot of reasons someone may not comply. Doesn't give you the right to beat them to death. You heard it from the one who wasn't involved in the beating..."I hope they stomp his ass."
100% agree. The greater societal problem, isn't people running/resisting arrest, it's law enforcement behaving in this manner.

I just watched one of the videos that was released, I kind of get the feeling it was personal.

He seemed scared drugged out of his mind and didn’t know why the heck it was happening, I can understand that. The police should have never let it get to that point.
That's what it looked like to me. Let's see what happens when the drug screen is published, if it ever is. The guy fought the cops from minute one and ran and never stopped fighting. Did the cops go overboard in hitting and kicking him, absolutely. I learned in school that if I didn't want to get beat up, to not pick a fight with 5 dudes bigger than me.

It's not a burn the city down event as the 5 officers have been charged with murder. What's to riot about? A riot here proves what most have accused rioters of... Not caring about the incident just wanting to burn and loot.
There are always professional protestors and agitators who live to get on camera. That is never going to change.

Are we watching the same video, especially the initial stop?

So five 200 lb trained cops couldn’t immediately control a 150 pound skateboarder? They could have restrained him in 15 seconds if they had wanted to, drugs or not. Something else is going on here. They wanted to punish him for some reason and I’m curious what it is when it comes out.

On your last sentence, that’s very similar to Ron White and his experience with some bar bouncers. “Now I didn’t know how many of them it was going to take to whip my ass but I knew how many of them they were going to use. That’s a handy piece of information right there.”

I wish I could like this more. They held both his arms and passed him around for haymakers. He didn't really fight at all.

I don't think it was personal. But I wouldn't be surprised if it was. I think they just decided to take out some anger for him not laying down immediately.

I don’t think all law enforcement behaves like this. Contrary to popular belief, there are plenty of good cops out there. Something else is going on here that hasn’t been said. I’m going to wait till all the facts come out.

I agree all LEO's don't. And there are lots of good ones.

Just watched..so disturbing..More than 5 LEO on the scene. Looks like Denzel Washington movie stuff. Got to be something much greater than some personal agenda

So damn stupid. Protesting what? Are the cops not being prosecuted? Are the cops white? There’s no way they get off. All this does is put more in harms way that may have an emergency situation.

I'm fairly certain that what took place was a travesty and everybody in America, no matter their race, should be appalled and angry about this.

As anyone that has read this forum for very long knows, I'm not a staunch supporter of the police as witnessed by the posts I've made in the "protect and serve" thread.
While the cops in this incident didn't act in the best way possible, I don't think they committed murder. The decedent fought with the police and ran from them, which ratcheted up the adrenaline to level 5. Maybe I haven't watched enough video to become outraged, but I don't see this as a burn the city down event.

You are absolutely full of sh-t if you actually believe the cops did not cause this and murder this guy. From the second he was pulled over initially to the beatdown once he ran, this was solely on the cops here....

What the heck? Are you watching a different video than me?

Those cops were literally holding him up because he could hardly stand his own and beating him relentlessly. They 100% committed murder.

Did you watch the first video when they initially pulled him over? And even if he was on drugs there were 3 or 4 cops there on the initial stop, they shouldn’t have had any trouble getting him in cuffs.

I think a personal agenda may be plenty to do something like this. Really no other explanation for it. That beating was personal.

But why did they murder him? Was he an infomant? Where thse 5 so stupid to just kill a man on the street?

Something isnt right and there is a deeper story.
