Is that not state property also?
So how would one teach philosophy? Literature? Journalism? Political Science? There are a lot of students who arent going for a Bachelor of Science degree.
False. Universities have all views represented in a myriad of ways. Student groups abound. And if you get a liberal minded professor and you happen to be raised right-winged then good you get to hear something new then form your opinion.
Those symbols also have no affect on the ones who get triggered by signs of Christianity…I agree. I understand people not believing in a higher power but it befuddles me as to why a religious symbol triggers people. The Jewish star, The crescent star, Buddha, or any other religious symbol has zero effect on me.
The point was that you obviously care because you crap on anything Christian the second it's posted.
Yes, absolutely it is state property. The question is was it state sponsored? The rock has always been a platform for students to express themselves. Are you against students expressing themselves or just ideology you disagree with, things that you find offensive? If the bar is set that students can't put things on the rock that are offensive then we need to remove it. No matter what is placed on the rock someone will find it offensive.
I know it's mind blowing that not everyone agrees with you. You either are for free expression or not, not just the ones you agree with. Are you really a libertarian or are you a liberaltarian. Are you a fascist? You've not seen one person here call for removal of any ideology except for you. Are you OK with the university sponsored Sex Week? Or because you don't find that offensive you think that's ok? Are you only concerned with offending non-Christians or do you care about what Christians might find offensive? Seems like you really are concerned with the feels of anything non-Christian but don't give a rats behind about how Christians may perceive something. Not everyone is like you. I know its mind blowing.
Which is why he would celebrate this and laugh:I know it's mind blowing that not everyone agrees with you. You either are for free expression or not, not just the ones you agree with. I wonder how you would feel if someone painted something blasphemous over that.
This. Surrounded myseld with both. Just enjoyed learning varying viewpoints. Always interested me. I enjoyed discussing politica with people who lived in grounded real world. Never respected the conspiratists, on either side. Hard to believe that someone would hug the far right agenda, or left so fiercely to fall prey to their BS. College is not a liberal breeding ground. Counterpoint, this aint Fox News man!Blows my mind anyone would criticize a young mind being exposed to as many ways of thought as possible. It's called being developed into a well-rounded individual. It develops critical thinking, empathy. Closed mindedness creates ignorance.
It makes me believe that there might be something to this Christianity thing. If the world is that dead set against all things Christian then maybe Christians are on the right track.
Why is expecting public institutions that are funded by tax payer dollars to be apolitical unrealistic? You expect all vestiges of religion to be be purged, so why not political views?
Christianity is the easy target. Sort of like white males. To be a Christian, or most any other God believing religion, there are rules. People resent being told that there are rules.
