So we start this day after scoring one run from a Mes HR in 15 innings against a club that is 14 games under .500. At home. Made their pitching staff look like Cy Young award winners. Total of 6 hits by three guys. Just a bad game, right fellas? 1-9 since the ASG. No trades for a bat. Same old story, 1-8 RISP. For years. For some reason OBP cannot knock in runs. Can't figure it out. lol.

FWIW - Worst team hitting slash line since 2002, which is all ESPN's goes back to, and one of the worst in team history without question. Even with the great Joey Votto for 62 games. But he will come back along with BP and save the day. lol.

reds are done bro, for along time. need a really good GM to get them back on track. i just don't have faith in bobby boy though to get it done.

It takes nearly perfect nights like tonight by the pitching staff to win anymore. Cahill has been awful for the D-backs and he only gives up 3 runs.

Jock has got to be done after this season with his contract up. Bob may move him out of the GM and leave him as Pres for a year or two. They need him to go. What I read is they flipped the switch off after the losing streak kicked in, but you know they will still not be sellers, even with Cueto being a FA. He is going to get $20+ mill thrown at him a season long term - no way Bob is going to be able to keep him. Latos has only one more year. Same deal. Move those guys for some bats since you are dead in the water anyway.

you want to know why the reds will never be as good as organization as the cardinals. look at the trade wire today. once again jock sucks. bobby will probably have to sell the team before we are even in there league.

He threw out a stat about the D backs bullpen hasn't given up a run in 18 innings and followed by saying "granted they have been playing the Reds".

I'd be pissed if I were a Rays fan.

They will move in the next 5 years. Clay Travis claims Nashville is a possibility.

Not so much with Price but Zobrist too. They had no choice because they can't draw fans. I've been to a couple games in that dump of a stadium. Free parking $30 tickets basically on the field, 11-12k in attendance.

I hope they end up in Nashville. That would be another crown jewel for the city and state. Definitely would make it over several times a season for that.

Madden is a great manager - to deal with what he has to every season and still be competitive.

Walt must have photos on Bob. Can't imagine him staying past this season. He has done some serious damage. Gets a washed Rolen, who gives one decent season. Gets a rental in Choo. Gets Latos - but gave up two solid bench guys in Grandal and Alonso, just to say goodbye to Latos after next season if he isn't dealt in the off season. Crapwick, Mongo, Marshall, etc. Long term mega deals that have totally tanked the future. Would not be surprised to find that the Cards have been paying him under the table. lol.

Crapwick comes through with key bloop hits two nights in a row. Mongo chows down on cubans in South Beach. Chappy keeps his MLB record alive - 47 appearances in a row with at least one K. Latos pitches well, has his traditional meltdown in the middle. Price gets in his head and he recovers. Umps blow a call again - NY corrects. 3 in a row after going 1-9. Better make it 9 in a row to get back in. BP is dying to be in there. He will return early. Meanwhile Joey is chillin', drinking lemonade, taking in South Beach, and cashing huge checks for doing nothing. He hopes to be shut down. Well done Bob and Walt.

And yes trolls, the team has won at a equal to higher pace with Joey out. Even with the 1-9 after the ASG. Get BP back within a couple of weeks and and still within 5 games they will still have a shot.

They are finally letting the cat out of the bag in Cincy about Votto. Quadricep issue at the patella tendon that we knew about. Had atrophied and was staying strained. Doing the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections. Just did the second one last week. Will do three in total and they are 30 days apart. So the earliest he can return is early September. He has just started light strengthening. Will not even know if it worked until then. Better just shut him down.

This tells me the original surgery went bad or Votto had a Maymon type reaction to it. We have already seen how that plays out. They are acknowledging that it will be unlikely there will be any 2010 Votto type seasons in the future. 2013 type seasons will probably be as good as it gets. Sucks for Votto, the club and the fans. Especially the club and fans. Votto gets $20+ M a season for his pain. I have no idea how Bob/Walt can get out of that contract without eating much of the cost of it if he is traded.

With today's edition of As The Reds Turn, Price lashes out at his team in the media for indifference toward the game yesterday, while ignoring the fact that he batted Hannahan as his DH against one of the better pitchers in MLB in Kluber while utilizing the 87th different starting line up in 112 games. Hannahan still maintains at .000 BA and is clearly not even 80% physically while Luddy and Lutz, who also bats LH like Hannahan, sit the bench for the game. Clueless. I really don't know how the organization can mess things up any more than they have.

BP admitted in an interview with Day that he is probably less injured today than what he was the second half of last season after he got hit in the forearm by the pitch in Pittsburgh. But Dusty asked him to play through it and he did. He is dying to get back on the field and even play hurt. Yet, we have fans and trolls that want him gone and not Votto. Nobody has given more to his team than BP. They join Price in the clueless category.

yep, i like phillips. price is the worst manager in baseball right now. he is just pathetic. jocketty is right up there as a baseball idiot as well.

How did you like that Price brilliance in the late innings yesterday? lol. He sends Hannahan up to pinch hit with Lutz on the bench. Hannahan of the 0'fer everything and .000 BA. lol. Then the Marlins manager has a brain fart and takes out his SP for the ninth who had totally baffled the Reds all game. Frazier doubles, Mes doubles - 1 run down, no outs, Mes on second. Has Santiago sac bunt Mes to third. Very good decision. Then the dumb kicks in. Let's Schumaker hit. With Lutz and Luddy sitting on the bench. Mistake #1. He tops an infield grounder up the middle and the dumbest third base coach in America doesn't send Mes. That should be a go on contact to anybody but the third baseman play. The SS had to throw out Skip from his knees behind the pitchers mound. So Mes probably scores if he had gone since he has good speed. Mistake #2. So now there are two outs and they pitch around Negron and walk him to get to Cozart. Price lets Cozart bat. Mistake #3. With Luddy and Lutz on the bench. So then we have the Classic Cozart chase the junk outside the zone strike out. Rally over.

Don't know how much the buy out will be, but he has two years left on his contract. It's coming. He doesn't get it. Kind of like Bruce and Cozart at the plate. They don't get it.

Who hires a third base coach that has been out of baseball for 3 years? The same coach that's had more runners thrown out at home than any club in MLB, along with the most one run losses in MLB to date.

Add two more - last night and this afternoon - to the MLB leading one run losses. That makes them 17-28 on the season in one run games. Both of those were to a club that was over 10 games under .500. So our guys are now .500 at 60-60. Homer just hit the DL with a sore elbow. BP is 7-10 days out from his return and Votto at least 3 weeks and probably more. Done, without a miracle.

Price added to his list of reasons to be canned today. Had Santiago try to bunt on the third strike with guys on second and first, down one run and no outs in the ninth. He fouls for the SO. Next two guys fly to center and ground out, and the game ends. Again.
