Da Reds thread

6 starters tonight had BA's under .225. Then the 8th starting pitcher they have already used this season dislocates his shoulder tagging a guy out in the first inning of his second start. Perfect.

I can't wait until the day after the All Star Break.

Rumors floating around Chapman to the Nats

Why do they even need a closer with the crappy offense they have? Move him for bats. Let Hoover and Parra close - they have been pretty strong this season. This is all about winning 70 games now.

Sucks for a great fan base. Cincy always supports the Reds and always will

Makes me sick to my stomach when I read analysts and media guys in essence lobbying to keep him because he's had to endure all the player injuries. If they actually watched every game they would see just how wrong he is. The FO went on the cheap and they got it.

FWIW the grand Mes to LF experiment is already over. He's done. Couldn't play it without pain. Duh.

Truth. They can't blame their troubles on a lack of support. That area is about their Reds as the east TN area is about the Vols. There is nothing even close to their importance.

Great defensive CF.

He is the fastest player in baseball and is not leading off. Should be bunting. His obp would skyrocket

Do you think he... should be leading off?

And I think skyrocket is optimistic, but maybe he'll start bunting more.

Should be a Brave then

Ha

At least we made it obvious what we are trying to do. Laid it out perfectly for your front office. We traded everyone and are still better than the Reds lol. It's a joke how big of a lead the Cards (not very good) have in your division.

I find it humorous that Braves fans come to this thread to talk trash. It's like all those rival fans in the Recruiting Forum the last few years.

Braves fans: The Reds suck LOLOLOL

Red fans: Ummm, we already knew that? Thanks though.

Keep doing you Braves fans

Look, on behalf of the Braves Thread I would like to extend an olive branch your way for this one day. We have bigger fish to fry. We must put all our collective energy towards roasting the Cardinals, and all their fans.

:good!::good!::good!:

I rarely go to a rival's thread. Especially could care less whether they are up or down about their team. I check the standings, check the trends, done. That's all I need to know about the opponents. But most of the Braves' fans visits here are really childish. That's why most are on Ignore. I really don't care what they have to say other than a couple who are reasonable posters. It's like they are on the playground going "nana boo boo."

Exactly. What most don't get is when he threatens the bunt the pitchers adjust to throw outside the zone to make it more difficult. So if he stays disciplined he will get more walks along with getting more bunt hits and slapped grounders past the corners who are drawn in.

The last game against the Cubs/Lester was a perfect example except he was hitting RH. The corners were way in on the grass. His first hit was a ground single right where the 3B would have been. He spanks it the next time up for a double. 3 SBs on two ABs and the only run scored the whole game. They bring in a RH reliever for Lester. He switches to LH - no bunt attempts - no hits, no walks. I don't get it. The whole point of him learning to hit LH was to get him to first base quicker. Price should be telling Riggles to flash the bunt sign at least half the time he bats LH. Bunt, slap, or take the pitch every time they are drawn in.

Best news we've had in awhile. They just reported during the game that Billy is considering giving up trying to SH and just go with his natural RH. They will wait until the end of the season to make a decision. Please make it happen, Billy. The thought of him hitting .270/.350 from his natural side makes me very happy thinking about the bases he will steal and runs he will score hitting from the LO position. He can still bunt and slap the ball to keep the D's playing in. With that speed he will still beat out more than his share.
