well the only sunlight on a dismal year. congrats to frazier on the derby win. give us reds fans at least something to watch. now time to trade half the team. hopefully fire jock and price.
I can't see why they would trade Frazier. Underpaid and overachieves. I could see trading guys like Cueto, Leake, Bruce, and even Chapman. Those guys make serious bank. The Derby was great. The new format was pretty intriguing and Frazier just has a flair for the dramatic.
Frazier's numbers are considerably better than Votto's. Slightly higher AVG, 10 more HR, 12 more R, 15 more RBI, 3 more SB, 100 points higher SLG and Frazier is a better defensive player. Votto leads in OBP by 55 points. Votto has had a solid year, but his numbers are more similar to Bruce's than Frazier's.
Honestly, I think we should trade Frazier right now. He was a late bloomer and is already 29 years old. Sell high imo. If they start a rebuild now and he only has 3-5 good years left then he won't benefit the team when the success "should" occur. His value probably won't be any higher than it is at this time.
I say trade anyone and everyone they can. And please, please, please go find a good GM and manager.
HR, R, RBI, SB and SLG?How did you get "closer to Bruce's" from that?
I'm not real sure what qualifies as good trade material, but I would think trading a player who is at his peak production and value would give us the greatest return. That is, if we're going to go for a complete rebuild. If not, then hang on to him.I can't see why they would trade Frazier. Underpaid and overachieves. I could see trading guys like Cueto, Leake, Bruce, and even Chapman. Those guys make serious bank.
I really hope we get good value when we trade Cueto.
The Reds may have overplayed their hand with Johnny Cueto - Red Reporter
