Da Reds thread

I'm completely confused. You are mad that Jock locked up good players (excluding Phillips) currently on your team by spending money and saying that it's the reason you can't get good players, yet if you didn't spend money on Votto, Bruce, and Phillips, you would even have a worse team.

haha. we are 3rd worst team in baseball and last in the central. your right jock is a damn genius.:lolabove:

The Reds did it right. They built through the draft and trades for younger guys, made the playoffs three out of four years (and won the division twice) and signed their hometown guys. Injuries, players getting older, and overall bad luck just hurt. The Votto and Bruce contracts were good signings, Phillips was meh, and Bailey was a bad signing. You guys have a lot of talented pitching in the farm system. Suarez looks like a legitimate shortstop of the future that you freaking stole from my Tigers. DeSclafini and Iglesias look like guys with a lot of potential pitching. Chapman will bring in a nice haul next year. I don't think you are as screwed as you think you are.

the only thing I agree with is the suarez trade. which they are moving him to LF because they have to let the 220 batting cozart back at short. votto signing was to much money, the rest were horrible club killing signings. at least bruce will be gone after next year. the other signings will keep us in the cellar for along time. yes I blame jocketty. my big thing is all these guys on the team, none of them were drafted by this idiot. these guys were on the team or in the minors when the cards decided to part ways with him. which was a great choice on there part. sure looks like the cards have missed him. so far jocks draft pick have done little at best. mike leake is the only pick that has really panned out.

@wahoosblog: Joey Votto has a .560 on-base percentage since the All-Star break? Just...wow. #Reds

@beckjason: Fan yells, "Come on Reds, get more runs." Joey Votto delivers 2-run HR off Knudson. 12-5 game.

Call me crazy, but I'd appreciate my best player when he's having a great season more during a horrible season for your team, but again, I've been called crazy before.

What's your point? It's not Votto's fault

the point Is with the money being spent to votto, phillips, bailey, and bruce, they can't get anybody else. now that is more on jocketty, but it also shows that votto and the other players don't care if they win. jocks draft picks have sucked. leake being the only one that has panned out. 2008 and one effing player panning out, and he still has a job. point being reds are gonna be in last place for a long time. reds fans know this. votto is not the soul person to blame, but yes he is some what responsible for the poor product on the field. I see him as a Aroid type club killing player.

Have a great off season, champy. Hope the fishing is good. I have checked out for the rest of the season. Staying with football until I see what Bob does this winter. MLB Trade Rumors is predicting they will be active with trades. But we've heard that BS often. I fully expect Price back and a stellar 5th place in the division finish for 2016 even if they do.

Look at the bright side, maybe Bruce will hit for more than two months next season. Maybe Cozart will hit .250 or better. Maybe Meso will be able to catch, call a good game, and not try to pull every pitch. Maybe Gomer will have a 4.0 ERA or better while going 175 innings or more. Maybe Hoover will stop being Groover for a whole season instead of half. Maybe Diaz will report in shape. Maybe they will dump most of their pen. Maybe BP will still be able to hit at this year's performance level. Maybe Frazier will pass on the derby. Maybe Hamilton will hit north of .250. Maybe Votto will hit instead of walk and have 100 RBI's - which a $20 million man should always do. Well, maybe not. Votto does what Votto does and his WAR is super studly. That's why he is so attractive to other teams that all want him.

To all those happy know-it-alls and pseudo analysts that support their own useless team in MLB, troll on. You really do know so much about what you claim you know. I am in utter awe of your command of the game of baseball. That's obviously why you are here - to impart your wisdom and knowledge to those of us less fortunate than you. Tell us mere mortals how this crappy Reds team can possibly still be 4 games ahead of your crappy team in the loss column after the brilliant Jocketty traded away what was left of the SP staff while using nothing but farm hands and has beens. I know - it was all because the Reds have Votto. lol. I'm sure Liberty could use your expertise to turn around the fortunes of your favorite team. Or are they your favorite team?

Lol they have traded more than anyone in the game wise guy... Went from the bottom in farm system rankings to the top... We.Are.Tanking.Moron. Who cares about the Reds and standings? Both suck

haha and pigs may fly. they bring back price I won't watch a game next year. I swear I think he is worse than boone was. its going to be along time before we are gonna be good. oh well go vols beat the sooners. at least I went to the game last weekend in Nashville and had a blast. fishing has sucked this year we have green algae on the lake which makes it hard to catch the walleyes. have to find something else to do next summer if this keeps up.

For the fool who was slobbing PG back when:

@BtBScore: Paul Goldschmidt: 163 wRC+, .417 wOBA, 6.3 fWAR

Joey Votto: 177 wRC+, .434 wOBA, 6.4 fWAR
