I guess selling out for Homers is working for Suarez

Currently. It wasn't for about 3 weeks prior to. Votto is working on Suarez and it is helping.
I'll post my 2 cents on your posts.

1.) Agree 110% on Raisel Iglesia. I'm done with him as a fan. I agree that the Lorenzen/Garrett combo can handle the 7th inning on especially being a LHP/RHP combo. I feel comfortable with them handling the late innings of games nightly. The middle inning guys is where our bullpen issues lay outside of getting rid of Iglesias. Hernandez is in a REAL bad funk, Stephenson has turned a corner, and I have been saying for two seasons to put Mahle in the pen. I like Mahle's stuff but he his a high pitch count guy that is not going to get you thru 6 innings on most nights. His stuff is better suited for the bullpen at this point of his career. If we can get another starter I like putting Wood in the pen also. One issue with Rasiel is his trade value is sinking fast. Would have to include Puig, Scooter/Dietrich or someone else in the deal to get much right now.

2.) Love Puig and have heard from many "unofficial" sources that he LOVES Cincy. Of all of our impending FA's he my #1 target to lock up if possible. Management has to know if they're doing their job if they can resign him after the season. If it's less than a 70% chance you have to move him at the deadline sadly.

3.) LOVE DD and he's was one of the biggest reasons we were "in the race" in the first half but he's cooled off big time and we have good options at 2B with Peraza/Scooter/Senzel

4.) Roark should be dealt. SP is going to be a premium at the deadline and he could land some decent return in a deal.

5.) Was very interested in your Suarez post. Reason for that is I've been a fan of trading him at the deadline EVEN when we was in the race. Like you said we could move him and land a small lottery in return. Move Senzel to 3B, Peraza at SS (I think we deal Jose Iglesuias and Scooter at 2nd. In the next year or two at most we will see Trammell in the OF with the combination of Puig/Winker/Irvin/Siri/ and maybe someone that returns in a deal. Suarez & Luis Castillo is our "lottery tickets" available for cashing. I'd rather deal Geno than Castillo but they aren't going to deal either.

6.) Disco is one of the most intriguing pieces of the deadline/future. I'm pretty much ok on whatever they decide to do with Disco at this point.

I think there is an above average chance these guys get dealt: Jose Iglesias, Jared Hughes, David Hernadez, Jonathan India, Dietrick

We essentially see it the same way. Thanks for posting. Wanted to make sure it was not just me being in a funk after watching 90+% of their games.

Like I posted above, Votto was even yelling at Suarez while on base to get his head in it. Even fans can tell when he goes into one of his funks. He does weird stuff, like making up his mind to just stand there with two strikes and then throw a childish fit when the ump calls the third strike. He is too good at the plate to be trying to hit an HR every AB. His BA/OBP dipped badly with that thought process. He's reasonably decent on the base paths and serviceable on D at 3B. When your team is 14th out of 15th in the NL in runs scored, this HR or bust is not getting it done as the #3 hitter. Which is the only real reason to keep him IMO - his bat. If he isn't going to do that with professionalism and go back to driving the ball, move him for talent that will. But I doubt that ever happens with the way Bob C falls in love with players. Moving Senzel to 3B would increase the range of that position and enable Peraza to shade more to the other side if they don't sign Iglesias.

Looks like Votto is getting his power stroke back just in time. Loved what Romano brought last night. He's developing that "out" pitch. DD kept them going early and they would have lost 5-10 more games than they have without him. But he's done unless they need somebody to get HBP (bizarre). Really hope they ink Puig. He fits perfectly well in with Cincy and this team.

Sims has a future as a reliever initially. Want to see more of him and less of the dead arms. Garrett had control issues in the previous outing which reappeared. Was somewhat surprised Bell used him yesterday until they got that fine tuned.

Would be AMAZED if Roark and Puig aren’t gone.

I agree. I wish they could do a deal with Puig, but he is probably going to be too high priced to sign. Both are good trade bait though.
A year to late. Should have done it last year when his stock was high.

Agree. The org never sells as the perceived high, they wait until it is too late. Just the way they are.

So my Winker hitting LO observation is still holding true. A great deal of the time it produces 3 runs or less and cuts the two everyday players with the highest BA's out of an extra PA in low scoring games. They started Peraza over Iglesias or he would have hit behind Senzel at #7. Wasted two hits by Senzel and a walk late by iglesias - who saved the day with a couple spectacular plays. A really solid night of pitching that delivers a W. Good thing Suarez and VanMeter went deep.

Puig,Roark, Iglasius (both), Scooter,Wood and Winker all according to reports are trying to be dealt. Several have asked about Garrett but Reds not willing to move him yet......

If I knew I could sign Puig, J-Iglesias and Wood - the rest (other than Garrett) I could live without.

Lodolo debuted in Dayton. Farmer caught him during his rehab stint. Said he has an excellent slider. Gave up one run and three hits in three IP. Has a couple of things to work on - pitching higher in the zone and learning how to counter the approaches of hitters. Learn to take charge more of each AB. Sounds like a 2021 late call-up or 2022 to me.

Not going to lie I hate the Bauer deal as a Red fan. Giving up Puig and Trammell for one year of Trevor Bauer sucks.

If they already know they can't sign Puig long term, I kind of get it. Giving up Trammell isn't that big of loss IMO. He's not doing anything in AA ball and is butchering it in the OF with 9 errors this season. Bauer with DJ may be something to watch. Bauer needs a fresh start and to grow up. They may know they can sign him to a reasonable deal in the off season. If not, then I agree, this is not that great of deal except as a 2020 rental to solidify the rotation.

This was coming and I'm finally glad the team stood up for themselves. Started early in the game with Votto chirping with a Pirate player and than they threw high at Dietrich's head. Tomorrow's game is going to be really interesting to say the lest.

I’m just frustrated and tired of losing. Trading for a one year rental of Bauer is a move a contender makes not us. I don’t see the logic behind it. Not to mention losing a top prospect in a farm system that doesn’t have a lot to show for it either.

Fully understand. I guess I'm just hopeful they can sign Bauer to a good deal in the offseason. They signed Gray for 3 years, they can extend Bauer's deal for a couple to make it 3 as well. Castillo, Gray, Disco, and Bauer as SP's for multiple years? That's a pretty nasty rotation. Yes, please. Make a couple moves for the pen and the staff could be set for that playoff run. Pitchers needing tuned up and taught how to pitch love DJ. Look at the ERA for this staff while even pitching at GABP and using a few wannabes and has-beens. Impressive.

I'm hoping to see an OF with our three #1 picks getting the opportunity to play together most everyday the rest of the season. The only way to know who is a keeper and who is not is to let them play. Why sit Ervin? Makes so sense with how he hits. Winker and he can split games in RF to see who handles it best unless they make another trade.

Hurdle and the Rats are trash. MLB/umpires look the other way like the garbage they are. If they were being isolated and put in harm's way they would be the first to cry out and make changes. It's chicken shiz.

The love coming Puig's way from Cincy and his former teammates along with his return of same has been great to see.

Scooter hitting clean-up is absurd. This is not 2017 or 2018. He needs to hit 7th until he finds his stroke. C'mon, Bell, get a clue. They cannot keep a consistent rally going because he has the order jumbled up so much.

Castillo is filthy good today.

Roark to the A's. Reds's pay part of his remaining compensation and get an OF replacement for Trammell in Jameson Hannah - 2018 second rounder. Analytics have him being a big leaguer with plus speed and defensive skills. Currently hitting (left side) better than Trammell at .284/.341 in high A ball.

Williams and Krall are getting it done.

I figured Roark would be traded before Wood. The biggest thing is trading Scooter for basically nothing, the front office was determined to trade away all the fan favorites (Puig/Gennett) it seemed like. I know the injury really hurt his trade value but I thought maybe we might have kept him. Still I appreciate the two great seasons he produced for us especially considering he was a last second waiver pick up before the season started.

Yep, they didn't get anything but cash except for the proverbial player to be named later. They did clear some payroll. Some payroll that I am hoping goes to Jose Iglesias as our SS for the foreseeable future, but he is a Boras client.

I liked Scooter a lot and really appreciate what he brought. It was a great story. However, if Peraza (assuming they sign J-Iglesias for SS) or VanMeter can step in and do good things at a fraction of the future cost I would rather have them. Who had a .284/.326/.416 with 85 runs, 14 HR's, 58 RBI's and 23 SB's last season? I have that guy - Peraza - for less than $3 MM a year and control him through 2022. I don't know if Scooter ever gets it back and I know his D is just adequate at best.
