Da Reds thread

Well its Opening Day so for just one day I'm going to believe we're going to sweep the World Series and return to the glory days of this franchise. I really hope one day I can get up to GABP for opening day I hear its an awesome experience in the city.

I hear ya, Bur. Actually all I want is improvement and development/improvement from our kids. I hope they play their hearts out and bring positive energy. Furthermore, just give me entertainment 'till football season

Greene let that inning get away from him after giving up that homer. Through 3 Greene has 7Ks on 70 pitches.

Steer homers 4-2 ball game. I really hope Steer becomes a good one, I was impressed with him in his debut last year.

Couple of observations from yesterday:

India seems to be the only one with some fire in them.

I continue to be a fan of Steer, in his debut last year he went 2/2, a walk, a double, and a homer. This year in his first opening day start he goes 1/2, a homer, and 2 walks. He puts together some really good ABs. Hope continues into becoming a solid player for us.

Didn't know what we were getting in Fraley when we traded for him but he just seems to hit and get on base.

Wasn't at all impressed with Will Benson after the spring he had. Didn't look comfortable at the plate. Put up a golden sombrero with 4 strikeouts.

I was ready to give up on Barrero last year and still see no reason to change my mind. Can't hit to save his life I would rather go ahead and start the rookies because at least they have upside to them.

Greene will have to keep his emotions in check. After giving up that solo homer and getting a couple of bad spots from the umps he let that inning totally get away from him and made Bell pull him after only 3.1.

Been to Louisville and have see the Lookouts play. Would like to see a game in Dayton one of these days, their Dragon logo is awesome.

Reds didn't win their first series last yr 'till game 28. They're now tied for first place.

No question the team is top heavy in the rotation with there being quite a gap between starters 1-3 and 4-5. Well we'll see how things workout tomorrow as starter #4 goes to the mound vs the Cubs

3-1 to start the year. We were 3-22 to start last yr. This don't suck

That's exactly what I told my wife when she asked why in the world I cared. Getting above the suck line alone this season would be fine in my book. It's clear they have some pieces for a good team if they handle them right while developing the proven talent on the farm for the second half or next season.
