Da Reds thread

It's awfully hard to watch Reds baseball games where Fairchild is your cleanup hitter and I'm done seeing Barrero hit anywhere

I know they want to be careful about rushing prospects and all but can you imagine how this lineup could be improved if they brought up McLain to replace Barrero at SS and Encarnacion-Strand(CES) to replace Steer at 1B?

Still haven't given up on Steer yet think he'll be a good one. Right now he has to be an every day starter but once we bring up some bigger prospects he might take that Farmer role of super utility guy that can play anywhere in the infield to give guys rest.

Ray's picked up Chase Anderson from AAA Louisville today. Pitches 3 scoreless giving up 2 hits and striking out 2 and earns a save. Thanks for contribution.

He had an opt out it was better get something than nothing for him but you are welcome I guess?

Yes I think if I remember right, Reds got some cash or future considerations. I saw him warming up in bullpen and didn't know who the heck he was so I looked and saw he was traded that am. I believe he'll be headed to Durham.

All I want to see today is Cessa going somewhere else. Trotting him out there is getting ridiculous.

Steer was a triple away from the cycle. Eric Davis is still the last Red to achieve that in 1989.

OK - they are 20% of the way through the season. Anybody spot a team identity yet? Who are these guys? Who do they lack to get over .500?

They definitely have an identity. It's scrappy

As for improvement they need more power and another starter. The good news it they have all kinds of power in AAA and a stud starter. The next 5-7 yrs looks bright for this franchise
