I've been following this case of where a 6 year old child shot his teacher at an elementary school in Newport News, VA. This is how far we have devolved when a 6 year old brings a gun to school and shoots his teacher. This kid obviously had some serious mental problems from the get go, but the staff at the school ignored it. These are the kids that join gangs and commit murder by the time they're 16.

Since April 1 not counting yesterday 26 killed and 107 wounded in 25 mass shootings. It's has become such common occurrence I'm surprised it makes the news.

Actually i think ( not 100%) but hat data probably doesn't included gang or drug related shooting.evideced by the 26 killed in 25 incidents...given that last school shooting alone had 6 of those alone...and that many are shot and killed every weekend in Chicago

Yes. It is. Especially in just 15 days. And it certainly wasn't from the lack of trying. Luckily most people who get shot live. Some of them don't fair very well though.

It does include them. If you go below about us there’s a page that lists their criteria. It’s simply 4 deaths. So any gang shooting resulting in 4 deaths would be included

Exactly. The problem with any reasonable discussion on gun legislation and any resulting bill is that it will certainly become polluted with ridiculously vague language, slid into the bill by dems, with the intent of placing unforeseen further restrictions on 2A and Americans backed by the courts chock full of leftist, activist judges. Their goal isn't reasonable gun legislation, but laying the ground work for eventual complete confiscation from those they know will always comply with laws.

You're right. The definition is changed I believe in the early 2000 they weren't linking gang related and drug-related shootings. And they still don't include those when they talk about the ethnicity of mass shooters they always leave out gang violence and drug-related violence but it's for the study their listed and updated definitions when you're talking just mass shootings your Right

Some mix of the following:

1) universal background checks;

There is already background checks, but I assume your meaning if I buy a gun from a neighbor, friend/relative, yard sale or flea market. Then No it's none of yours or anyone else's business.

2) mandatory prison sentences for all gun crimes, including illegal possession;

your probably including legal gun owners who use their guns to stop/kill the bad guy/girl.

3) restrict magazine size and make it a significant crime to exceed;

4) waiting period of at least 10 days.

Nope if you pass the initial background check you should have the gun immediately.

To me a “mass shooting” has to involve some level of randomness or non-association with the victims. If your crazy cousin shoots up the family at the weekend BBQ or a gang banger does a drive by on 10 dudes, means nothing to me.

Agreed.

But the technical definition they use to juice the stats is “4 people shot” (not including the shooter).

I would definitely classify my hypothetical as a heinous mass shooting perpetrated by pure evil - but it does not meet the threshold for inclusion in their data.
