DC Black Hawk vs Plane crash, Philly Crash. Malicious, or incompotence?

True. But he did get a pass from most leftist for 4 years because he’s gay. So I don’t see much criticism coming his way. Talk about a DEI hire.
And then Paternity Leave Pete post this. Ole boy chimed in saying show leadership to Trump. Meaning Pete’s own leadership screwed up and he’s passing the buck for the low numbers and diversity videos.

It's fair to say Pete failed at filling tower positions during his tenure. From what we know, however, this accident was not the fault of ATC, but pilots. Well know for sure when the investigation is complete.
Disagree on that. It’s been confirmed the ATC was doing the job of two. All parties involved share.

Kudos to Pete. Truth to power. Trump behaved like an adolescent.

You atta boy someone who failed their job that played a role in killing people? Pete’s mad because he got called out for incompetence. Truth to power would be coming forward in saying that he didn’t properly staff. Easier to blame Trump though and hope nobody notices.

That alone isn't DEI. An institution actively seeking students who meet the standard but come from a low income house, or are a minority is not the DEI being discussed. Setting different standards so a low income or minority student can be accepted is.

I don't agree and that's the problem when discussing DEI, it means different things to different people. If Vance got into Yale over more qualified candidates because of his income/regional status, how is that any different from an African American who gets in due to racial/income status over a white kid with better credentials? The picking and choosing of what constitutes DEI in this thread seems to be based on "vibes" rather than consistent internal logic.

So you’re saying everyone will accept the results of the investigation - that will be the first in a long time. Everything has to be a conspiracy these days it seems.

Pete didn't play a role in what happened any more than Trump did or DEI did, a helicopter pilot messed up and probably was looking at the wrong plane. Air traffic control did their job correctly

This video and the other 1 from yesterday show that the helicopter pilot flew DIRECTLY towards an huge jet that was directly in front of them for quite a while. Ample time to get the hell out of the way. The plane wasnt beside them, in a "blind spot" etc. It was directly in front of the pilot and if you listen to the audio the pilot was supposed to stay lower than the plane regardless. The only question here is whether it was intentional. It sure looks intentional to me. Yall wanna argue about that? Leave me out of it. I am waiting to hear about the crisis in the life of the pilot, the mental issues they were having etc. Looks like a suicide to me that killed 66 other innocent people.
I saw the video you’re referencing and I think the camera angle is from directly in front of the jet’s path such that it appears the jet is almost not moving. The helo is moving left to right from the camera angle and appears to be traveling way faster vs the jet. Made me think from the helo pilot’s perspective the sky was clear straight ahead until close to impact when the jet would have come in from the helo’s left?

If ATC was stretched thin covering enough planes then it could have required the ATC’s focus to be on other planes after the final communication with the helo immediately leading up to impact. Doesn’t lay the blame on the ATC, but if they had of called for evasive measures in the last 2-3 seconds prior to impact it might of been a close call instead of a crash?

Pete failed his job in not filling positions, so he did play a role in that the tower has ATC doing the job of two.

But did ATC mess up? If not then there's obviously no share on them. Should they have told the helicopter that there were two CRJs near them?
They were understaffed. So yes, the messed up. They are the ones flipping back and forth on frequencies communicating to both the plane and helicopter. I’m not blaming the ATC controller, I’m blaming the circumstance leading up to them being understaffed and not able to handle the situation.

I struggle to give this a "like", but it does seem very odd. The probability of two objects on completely different vectors, at different speeds intersecting at exactly the same place seems remote. It's amazing how many redlight camera citations are issued for people running red lights for actually how few accidents occur....not that when you're in those accidents it not horrible.

I’m not blaming the ATC. I’m blaming Pete for not having them staffed for the volume. The ATC did their job within their capabilities at the time. Too much happening at once in a small space.
Then you're not blaming Pete either. Again, what did the ATC fail to do, specifically, that would have been solved by more staffing?
