'24 DC OT Jordan Seaton (Future Portal Entry)

After this year, we have Umarov, Mincey, and Grant as true OTs. Grant was a huge project and we don’t know if he’ll ever be what we need. Mincey may go pro, but even if he doesn’t, he’s gone after 2024. I think they like Umarov’s potential, but he’s more of a RT than LT. Bennett Warren will be a freshman in 2024.

We obviously need more tackles.

Don’t forget Larry Johnson III. Former #2 JUCO OT in the country. Not sure why he hasn’t played. Perhaps to redshirt? 3 years of eligibility remaining if he does redshirt this year.

I think he REALLY needed conditioning and physical development. He buys into that and he’s waves better than Dayne Davis and Jerome Crawford…maybe even Mincey.

Mincey is actually pretty good mostly. Hope he’s not hurt badly. We will be in trouble if he can’t go next week.

As for Johnson, I don’t see how anybody but the staff could make a judgment right now.

I’ve heard VQ make several statements to this end and I have to say I just don’t understand how they (or anyone) can be so certain about it at this point….I mean, who are they talking about? Reddick, Clipper, Bussell, Nichols, Lang, Grant, Umarov all come to mind but the oldest of them are RS freshman who’ve been on campus less than two years…are they seriously saying it’s time to cut bait on any of those guys?

Not Lang or Umarov. Both show promise. Not Nichols, either, as he's seen as a guy who is going to be good. Bussell is just a true freshman. I think Clipper, Grant, Johnson, and Reddick need to show something in practice or this offseason.

What’s it matter if they recruited them? You do realize that recruiting is always a gamble right? You can make all the evaluations you want. But once you get a guy here he has to have the want and the attitude to succeed. Maybe some of those guys just don’t have it. You can say they are doing it for clicks but VQ is very informative.

Probably talking about some of the older guys like Lampley, Davis, heck maybe even Crawford
