What people don't realize is that many times the penalty for improper contact is the offending school cannot recruit that kid. If RS called Santos and said if I get a job I would like you to play for me IMO that would be the penalty for the school he was hired by.

Freaking out??? That was in response to a poster saying we were waiting to announce RS so he could break NCAA rules by contacting kids. Not sure why that's freaking out?

Really. Maybe we could just never put him on the payroll and just pay what would otherwise be his salary to the Randy Shannon Foundation instead, and since he's not on our payroll NCAA rules don't apply to him, so he could do whatever he wants to recruit players! Yeah, that's the ticket.

No I don't believe it has happened. I was using it as a hypothetical to show why it can't happen and what the NCAA would do if it did. Maybe you understand NCAA rules better than I do and will put on a free seminar so I can learn!

if he mentions a school, any school, and then is hired by that school, the school would have to cease recruiting the kid(s) or face sanctions. He has to be validated to the NCAA by the school in order to talk about any school to a potential recruit

On a more serious note what does the word IF mean before a statement? Does it mean one is saying it did happen or does it mean a hypothetical is being stated? Help me with the english language since you are such an expert at everything.

IMO if he simply stated that he wanted to coach the kid where ever he was hired to play for him without stating a school my name the same ruling would apply. Schools self impose that penalty of not recruiting kids that were contacted improperly more than people think.

From a poster on VQ: - Randy Shannon will be the new DC

- He is brining Barrow with him

- Pender and Diggs are Vols

- As some have posted, McCullers and Borque are Vols

Other stuff:

- There is some worry about Pig, but Joseph and Thompson will talk to him after the UA game and the feeling is Tennessee should be fine there

- Santos and Peters will remain Vols

- Joseph to TE/ST(don't know who will coach db's)


I feel the first couple of things he states are wrong.

Larry, are you hearing its going to be announced tomorrow (friday)?
If so how do you handicap the contestants.
If it is tomorrow then I think it has to be either LT or RS.
