Derek Chauvin trial

Not really he was convicted on 2 over charges because of political positioning. That's not a good thing.

One mans garbage is another mans treasure.

You're making statements of fact when it's nothing more than opinion, which is fine - just know that you're not going to convince anyone that just because you see something from where you sit, other people see it the same way from where they're sitting.

I see a lot of opinions here and I know I won't change anyone's mind. But try and think for a second. Say your closest loved one, whoever that might be, got into an altercation with a cop. Maybe they were rude, maybe they didn't comply, but something happened. The cop gets angry. He cuffs your loved one and puts them on the ground. After they are subdued the cop places their knee on that person's neck. (All while other cops stand around and guard).

Then as he applies more pressure your loved one is gasping for air. Your loved one screams out, "I can't breath" then dies right after. D

Do you feel the same? Do you blame your loved one? If you say yes I'll be honest you're a lot more callus than myself.

Today, imo, justice has been served and I have no doubt in that.

He wasn’t intending to harm him. There’s a HUGE difference between intentionally restraining someone and intentionally harming someone. Surely you know this.
He intended to cause him pain or at least discomfort and didn't even stop once he was dead. He knew what he was doing

He's going to have a lot of time to make some new black friends

Oh I know. But this is a message board for discussion and opinions and I was giving mine. Just like you gave yours

Ok, yeah I guess that makes sense even though I don’t like it. It’s certainly smart by the prosecution. But I certainly wouldn’t want my child to go through that again unless there were no other choice.

I'm not a fan of making the kid live it again, but I can see the reasoning.

How can you possibly know that beyond reasonable doubt? If that was his intent why didn’t he stop when Floyd died? It’s because he didn’t know. Common sense has apparently left the building when it comes to this case and I’m not talking about me.

Because he was doing it after the man lost consciousness and died. It was punitive since there was no reason to continue to pin a dead man to the ground

So by that you know he intended to kill Floyd or at least harm him and it went too far? How do you explain thousands of others in similar positions not dying or being hurt? Do you really think Floyd was the first man in that position for that long?

I think she blocked me long ago but I haven’t blocked her. I don’t believe in blocking people unless they’re personally harassing. Everyone has a right to their opinion and I just don’t respond or don’t read it if I don’t like it.

Have to say Second degree surprised me a bit, maybe because I don’t remember hearing a lot about it and 3rd degree seemed to be more in play. After reading up on 3rd degree, I felt at the end of this trial it was quite likely Chauvin would get 3rd degree murder and the lesser manslaughter.
