Did you want Bray to return or glad someone new is going to play QB?

Great height, great arm, good footwork.....mediocre receiver progressions and terrible leadership on/off the field. As I've said before, million dollar arm/$10 dollar brain. Glad he's gone.

I would love to have the talent, experience and arm strength. But I am glad we don't have his work ethic, attitude or the smug persona of entitlement he exuded during his junior year.

For the betterment of the program and new direction, I think it was best for all involved that he left.

It'd be one less question for an offense that has a lot of questions. If he didn't give the effort the job requires, I feel pretty confident the leeway he received with Dooley would not exist with CBJ. His talent and experience would be beneficial.

That said, I was ready for him to grow up but if he didn't...see ya.

Here's hoping he lands on an NFL roster, matures, and has a prosperous career.

I, personally, would like for him to have stayed. Although he probably doesn't fit Butch's offensive style, Bray is an incredible talent. Another year of maturity and good coaching might have made him an elite QB for us. I guess we'll never know.

I would prefer that he stayed, but something would have had to give. Jones'/Bajakian's offense is not nearly as vertical as Chaney's was, so either Bray would have had to learn to operate within that system, or the coaches would have to adjust their offense to Bray's strengths. I think it would have been Bray who had to adjust. And not to mention that Bray was going to have to develop new working relationships with a whole new group of inexperienced WRs/TEs. He probably made the right choice to go early.

Looking at it from his perspective, it would be highly doubtful he would have the big numbers he did this past season with CP, JH, ZRo and Rivera gone, and having to get on the same page with all those inexerienced receivers. So the only reason to stay would be to have another season (and offseason) to show NFL GMs that you're not really a complete fruitcake both off and on the field.

Bray's interview with Gruden said it all. He gave himself a "7" rating for game preparation. Gruden said "Dude, you gotta give it 11 in the pros" and Bray was nonchalant.

Tyler has all the skills, but unfortunately, he's still just a kid. Wish him the best, but thinking we're better without all his drama and baggage. Kind of like the hot prom queen in high school, once you go with her a couple times, it's like meeeeeeeehhhhhhh... what was I thinking?

Have to agree about the Gruden QB show - and I root for Tyler Bray but it was depressing watching Gruden who is always fired up trying to fire up Bray and about all Bray could muster was staring at his shoelaces and mumbling barely audible affirmative grunts. The impression I got was that Tyler really had some other place he'd rather be.

Wish he stayed, but can't go back. He made his decision. If someone doesn't want to be here, it's better to not have them.

Bray would not have mixed well with CBJ. I have a feeling when he told Jones he was entering the draft CBJ didn't shed any tears.

Not that we are better off without him, but I think CBJ probably wanted a young QB he could mold who wasn't set in his ways

if the Offense would have stayed.. we would have had a serious chance to do some major damage in the SEC this year.

True but if given the choice I rather have a functional D and competent headcoach, which what I believe we have this year

First of all, I want to say that I hope Bray does really well in the NFL and gets a chance to prove himself.

Do you wish he stayed to see how he would improve under Coach Jones or are you glad we are starting over with Butch with a new QB? Yes, I count Worley as a new QB even though he had some playing time under the Dooley era.

As a lifelong Vols fan, I have always wanted every player to stay and play out their 4 years, Bray included. I have known of too many guys who used their opportunity to play major college football as a springboard into the NFL. They play a few years, make bad decisions with their money, and once they are injured or retire, have no degree to make a decent living once their football careers are over. I just hope Bray, Hunter & Patterson have the good sense to take care of that.

I had felt that Bray was a good QB, but Dooley's game mismanagement affected his confidence. I felt had he stayed, Jones and Co. would have improved Bray's draft stock with one more season. Once I saw Bray's meeting with Gruden, I started to believe this man's problems were much deeper than just the coach's failings. After watching Bray's Gruden Camp interview, it seemed Gruden was pointing out things to him that he should have known. I wondered if he had ever studied his own game film, other than to watch his highlights.

With that in mind, Bray is the first Vol that declares early for the draft that I probably will not regret him leaving. I wish him well, but we needed a fresh start behind the center. It is sad he did not have the college career we all hoped for him, because some hoped he would be the next Peyton Manning. I just hope he is not the next Ryan Leaf. Hopefully Andy Reid can rehabilitate him.

I was glad to see Rick Clausen go after 2005.

our offense will miss him a lot. I would have liked to have seen him with a different staff. He is a heck of a lot better than what is here now.

Even though he wasn't drafted, it was probably best for Bray to move on. I don't see him fitting in CBJ's system. It is a shame he was unable to develop more under Dooley, but maybe he can grow and mature under NFL coaching. I wish him the best.
