In those still frames, the white you see on his gloves are not his fingertips. You have to watch the whole video to see this. I agree with the poster above that the tv replay does create an illusion. I don't know if he had it or not, but I can clearly see how the argument can be made. Based on my review after at least 25 times, it appears that his left hand may be cupping the end of the ball. Then, and only then after reaching the plane, does his hand move down and the ball changes to a downward trajectory. If he had lost it at the one, then the ball would most likely not move down again unless he tipped it (which I guess is a theory).

But, people just see the immediate "loss" of the ball at the one and want to end the play. You have to watch the entire motion through the endzone, and you have to watch it a few times. Nothing will change the call, so using personal attacks is kind of ridiculous. Hopefully, we are all grown enough to have a meaningful discussion.

You're right. I'm a "follower" because I think Howard fumbled. You, along with 30% of VN, are part of the righteous minority that knows the truth and refuses to follow the pack. have you watched the goal line footage ? He has a grip on the ball , the ball travels with his hand. He releases his grip , you can see 4 fingers and thumb open. The ball falls almost straight down . At this point the ball is well over the goal line. He had control as the ball passed over the goal.

How would this not be a grip or fit the definition of control ? How would this be considered indisputable evidence to overturn a play on the field ?

Then we were watching the same thing. But I saw what the rest of the world saw, while you've desperately tried to convince yourself of something that didn't happen because it makes you feel better about the result. I understand.
