DirecTV and the SEC Network (merged)

it appears the deal to carry SEC Network will be part of a comprehensive deal with Disney that could also bring Longhorn Network to DirecTV’s Sports Pack as well as WatchESPN and WatchABC, two online services which subscribers have been yearning for.[/I]

I would love that. WatchESPN would be nice to have.

FYI,

For EPB Fiber Optic Silver and Gold packge subscribers in Chattanooga, the SEC Network will be on channels 32 (SD) and 332 (HD).

Deal just signed between DirecTV and SEC Network

Expect a press release by the end of the week. One of our family friends is the franchisee for DirecTV in this area.
This will also allow access to the ESPN app through DirecTV for the first time as well as accessing info. online on ESPN which was formerly not allowed by DirecTV.

Gotta friend that works for Directv that posted the same thing on Facebook

Astronaut gets NASA to put SEC Network on International Space Station - The Washington Post

Because of his love for football, Wilmore had NASA arrange to provide the new SEC Network in the space station and plans to watch Tennessee Tech’s games on the Internet.

“I don’t watch a lot of sports — my wife might not agree with that — but I do like to watch football, the SEC Game of the Week, and I try to catch Tech every chance I get,” Wilmore said.

Lol, if this dude can get it in space I better get it in Knoxville.

Directv HD pic quality is better than Dish. Not that the layman could really detect it.

We have been through this before, check out this thread.

http://www.volnation.com/forum/tennessee-vols-football/220594-directv-sec-network-merged-13.html

DISH technology is superior in many ways to that of Directv. I know, I did the research before I switched.

The only real advantage to Directv over DISH is the NFL Sunday Ticket which I don't subscribe too, so I'm better off with DISH, but each person has to make his own decision.

Not saying that dish's receivers are worse or better than directv, but in picture quality, hd wise, directv's is better. Has to do with compression schemes and such. I compress video files everyday.

As far as available "deals", directv has the best. I get almost every channel, incl. all movie channels and sports, for $53 a month.

Not really, the HD quality of DISH is better in some regards, there is a lot of information in satellite forums to support this, and the experts reviewers at PCMag will support this claim. Just check the previous thread on this topic.

I save 30 per month by switching to DISH, the technology is better, and I get more HD for the money. I can watch my DISH programming from anywhere on my iPad, you can't do that on Directv. I am happy that I switched, I have a superior service, and I am paying less for it.

The icing on the cake is that DISH is a corporate sponsor for UT Athletics. What does Directv support?
