Discussion of gay rights, religion, abortion...oh yeah, and Pete Rose

Should have known better, you know your sperm just swim in circles.

I have one more question for those who are pro-choice and I will stop! :)

Have y'all seen what takes place during what is called a partial birth abortion?

Yes, and I do not support abortion after 23 weeks, because at that point, while it's slim, there is a chance a baby could survive outside of it's host.

I think you're missing my point. Which I believe may be due to my lack of ability to put it into words on a computer screen, so I will try one more time.

You can discuss the issue with one another as much as you want, but you cannot physically enter the mind of another being and make the decision for them, that part is all their own, and it is my belief, that regardless of another party's wishes (even though they may have swayed the opinion of the deciding party) the deciding party makes the final decision entirely on their own.

I don't know how to more clearly put it. I'm sorry if I'm not making sense.

In short, you believe the deciding party is only the mother.

In short, I believe the father and the mother is the deciding party.

You don't support it after 23 weeks? Well do you realize that you hear the heart beat very early on and by 23 weeks you already know the sex of the baby?

That's cool. At what point did you decide there was no God? A book, social factors or just felt that way?

A mixture of a lot of things. One of the big ones was that I could not reconcile the Christian belief that God is all powerful, all-knowing, etc. but still allows us free will. There were certainly academic and social factors involved as well.

Is this like saying the bombadier on the Enola Gay ultimately bears the responsibility of leveling Hiroshima? Afterall, he really didn't have to "press the button" if he didn't want to.

Ultimately, yes I am. I am saying the actions in the brain of decision making, lie solely on the owner of said brain. It's not really a concious decision, but more an autonomous action.

I really can't figure out any other way to explain it.

That is freakin' interesting!

:hi:

Thanks for answering!

I know, and I agree with what your saying.

I am just trying to get a rise out of OE. It's been a long day at work and I am trying to kill time.

I goofed on my info. I didn't mean 23 weeks, that's from an abortion presentation that a girl did in my gov't class. The first trimester is more acceptable. Early in the 2nd trimester a baby has more chance of survival outside the host

and I say "host" to desensitize the subject a little, because saying "mother" makes it too personal in my eyes.

Oh please, if you want to go that route, Curtis Lemay is at fault for giving him the order. Then you can go to the Joint Chiefs and Truman.

No, if you want to go my route then you would say gravity had the final say so. :ermm:

Regardless of the chance of survival it is still a human life.
