Discussion of gay rights, religion, abortion...oh yeah, and Pete Rose

I goofed on my info. I didn't mean 23 weeks, that's from an abortion presentation that a girl did in my gov't class. The first trimester is more acceptable. Early in the 2nd trimester a baby has more chance of survival outside the host

and I say "host" to desensitize the subject a little, because saying "mother" makes it too personal in my eyes.

Why the need to make it less personal? This seems an awful lot like an attempt to dehumanize.

And that is the reason this argument will never be settled. People have different definitions of the word "life"

Whoever changed the topic name, that's hilarious.

So pre 23 weeks it is amphibian dookie and some how by and act of Jesus it turns into a human at 24 weeks?

I would love to hear you give a presentation on this subject in front of an audience, it would be hilarious.

In my eyes, life begins at birth, when the fetus survives without a physical connection to it's mother.

In others, life begins when the fetus has a beating heart.

Right, so that would be Paul Tibbets

:eek:k:

Unless he actually pressed the button, Tibbetts was a means to an end.

I'm telling you, Ferebee and gravity killed 200,000 people. Truman, Tibbetts, and anybody else involved never had "final and complete say so" in the matter. They were glorified facilitators.

A mixture of a lot of things. One of the big ones was that I could not reconcile the Christian belief that God is all powerful, all-knowing, etc. but still allows us free will. There were certainly academic and social factors involved as well.

I think the reason God gives us free will is so that we can choose to love him or not. If everyone was perfect or if everyone was made to love God than what gift could we give to a God that has everything?

I guess it's no different to when you see someone give to charity, are they doing it for publicity or do they give because they want to out of their kindness. God gives free will to see who will give back to him even with a choice of not having to.

There can not be good without evil, otherwise we wouldn't know what good was.

I respect your opinion, not trying to question your thoughts, just adding what my thoughts are on this.

Who flew Ferebee there?

+1 for OE!

Speaking of which, why isn't Pete at least on the ballot?

I thought he was?

Isn't Mark McGwire?

The message that sends is "I can pump roids to hit 75 home runs, but I can't place a little of my hard earned money on the team I'm playing against."

So gambling is a greater vice than drug use?

In truth, it is. No argument to that.

Even though you don't come out and say it from what I gather you too believe it is life (at least in simple form) but the woman's right to choose trumps that of the life of the baby more or less?

so if i get hit by a car and can only survive temporarily by being on a resporator than i am really not alive?

Personally, I think it is silly either way. Put every one on the ballot and forget about it!
