Discussion of gay rights, religion, abortion...oh yeah, and Pete Rose

Here's another topic if someone wants to throw their 2 cents in:

Lesbian couple wants to have a kid. They get the sperm of the man. Do you think it's right for the couple to bar the man from seeing the child. I know things can be worked out where that won't happen, but me and my lesbian friend had a hardcore discussion one night over this.

She said, personally, she wouldn't want the daddy around or the kid to even know who the daddy is, because she would want to raise it their way. While I said why the hell would you want the sperm of some guy that would agree to a union like that. It went back and forth pretty good.

I guess we'd need a lesbian here for this to work, but just another topic thrown out since this is the THREAD OF ALL THREADS

When the kid gets older he or she will realize what it takes to make a baby and then the kid will begin to ask ?s.

My wife and I have two lesbian friends who are foster caring two young boys. One is 3.5 and the other is 14 months.

Their mother and father are worthless but the state is considering giving them back to their parents because they completed government rehab.

The parents have petitioned three times to get their kids back and the court has ruled in favor of the lesbian couple and they have appealed. This will be their final appeal.

The kids going back to parents is wrong and utterly sick in my mind because the two boys will not have a chance to make it in life.

bet you see a sh!t ton of sad cases like that.

Yes we are, although I am not a fan of that statement.

This is a topic that will never be resolved, because people are affirmed in their beliefs, and that is probably the most difficult thing to change.

Frankly, you will believe what you do and I will believe what I do.

The same reason this doesn't change IRL.

This is what makes our country great!

So....... what about animals that are born in shells and such?

Could a chick survive in its first hours without a yolk? no.

Birth from an egg is only birth after the animal leaves the egg..

I know what you're doing OE.... You're lucky I feel like playing along.

When presented with a question like this I always ask myself WWRWD.

For those who do not know: What Would Rod Wilks Do.

Yeah I don't like the statement either but we both have reasons for believing what we believe.

That was a big part of my argument. Also another part was say the father was good at football. The kid that they had was a boy and he was showing signs of being a future football star.

Wouldn't you want the dad to come in and teach the kid what he knows about football. If you would want the best for the kid it seems like that would be a logical thing to do.

I think the reason God gives us free will is so that we can choose to love him or not. If everyone was perfect or if everyone was made to love God than what gift could we give to a God that has everything?

I guess it's no different to when you see someone give to charity, are they doing it for publicity or do they give because they want to out of their kindness. God gives free will to see who will give back to him even with a choice of not having to.

There can not be good without evil, otherwise we wouldn't know what good was.

I respect your opinion, not trying to question your thoughts, just adding what my thoughts are on this.

I respect your opinion as well, but that leads to another question from me: If God is all-powerful, all-knowing, etc. why does he need our love? If it is simply an experiment, what is the point since he knows the final outcome?

I agree with you business.

There have been actual court cases on this.

IMHO, the donor has no right to the child if the parents went through the right paths, i.e. a spermbank. The donor was well aware of what they were doing when they made the decision to go on a date with a plastic cup.

did you just somehow incorporate a two girls one cup reference?

for some reason i have no problem with gay adoption since there are so many kids out there that need homes, but artificial insemination just seems darn selfish when it comes to the kid. i can't imagine the type of abuse that these kids must deal with. on top of the fact that children need a male or female influence to be well adjusted.

Well I should have added this. She said she would want sperm from someone that she knew more than Vile #75.

It just seemed like to me to go that route would be playing with fire on everything.

But also do you realize what type of ridicule these kids will deal with?

Somebody answer my ? please!

I'm not anti-abortion(I prefer that term because pro-life makes it seem as if opposers want to kill everything) but I didn't bring that into the discussion because I think the cases of rape, incest, the life of the mother, pretty much speak for themselves.
