Right. It's so much better to be overlooked than to be built up into something unrealistic and then torn down when you don't live up to the media crafted expectations. Let OSU have the pressure. That's the team that came into this season with the high expectations and the massive payroll for portal players.

It's all so ridiculous. There is a Seinfeld episode where George thinks all women have secret meetings to discuss him and other men. He's constantly convinced people are out to get him. Then there is Uncle Leo who assumes the cool that undercooks his meal is anti-Semite. We have a bunch of George and Leo's up in here.

Considering where this program was a short time back, I’m just happy we made it. Any playoff win at this point is lagniappe.

Are you trying to say 2-loss teams should not host a first round game, and just be glad they made the playoffs at all? I think 8 of the 12 playoff teams lost 2 (or 3) games.

Apples to apples, OSU and we lost 2 reg season and those teams along with SMu lost one. Georgia had the head to head. OSU beat a team that went to the conference finals, and barely lost to the number one team in that game. We beat Bama who isn’t even in the playoffs and lost to Vandy and Oklahoma. TX took Georgia into OT. We lost by two TDs.

Going into the conference games, I had an eyebrow raised with regard to several teams going into the conference championship weekend, but the one I felt had to do the most work was SMU. They simply haven’t played a good enough schedule, and their would be loss would be to a team that just lost at home to an SEC team that isn’t even in the playoffs. They indeed lost to that team.

The way the seeding was done favors a Big 10. Not only do they have 4 in, they have given the advantage to the Big 10 by sending Tennessee to OSU and SMU to Penn State. OSU and Penn State should be playing each other in Columbus. Indiana should be playing in TN, SMU should be playing at TX, and ND should be playing at Clemson.

And we lost to a 6-6 Arkansas team. We also were 1-1 against teams that finished the final poll ranked. OSU was 2-1 against final poll ranked team.

Not disrespect, just Big 10 bias the same as it ever was. All things being somewhat comparable, OSU is going to get the benefit of a doubt over any school from the south with the possible exception of Bama.

However, there is some good news. OSU is 2-12 vs SEC teams since 1990 in bowl games. OSU isn't unbeatable and they aren't great vs the run. I wouldn't worry to much about being disrespected because you have a good chance to win the game.

No, we shouldn't be hosting a game. We weren't disrespected; we were selected. But we barely got in, remember? We were not in control of our own destiny wrt the playoffs. We lost ugly to Arkansas, and down the stretch, most of our wins were unconvincing. We were very inconsistent, and our awe-inspiring defense disappeared along with our Heisman-worthy QB. Heck, even the bread-and-buter of our offense--Dylan Sampson--is nowhere near the Heisman discussion. All the teams above us showed flashes of brilliance more consistently than we did. So no, we should not be whining about having to travel to OSU. If we had taken care of business at Arkansas as we were expected to do, we would be hosting. Great teams don't lose to Arkansas.

Let’s face it, many of us stayed up last night hoping to see something that kept Bama from the playoffs. While not conspiring, we shared our grievances in hopes that our cumulative opinions would somehow reach the committee.

I am without certain that everyone vying for a home playoff spot have done the same towards the Vols. As to why the committee chose in favor of others is nothing other than bias and pick your criteria to support the decisions. Unfortunately, that’s as fair as this committee has been willing to provide.

Because ND did not lose 2 games and we did. Not being held over our heads, it is a fact. We did lose 2 games and one was to Arkansas a 6-6 team. Northern Illinois is 7-5.

Their votes amount to nothing more than personal opinions. This is nothing but bias.

The committee has yet to prove that they stick to a criteria. This year’s committee has ignored precedent from committees of prior years. They haven’t stuck to their decisions from previous weeks.

The kindest description I can think to give this playoff committee is “whimsical”. In sincerity, I believe the whole group to be without morals for what they have done with strength of schedules, as well as the complete disregard for player talent in the “eye test” that I hear spoken of so frequently.
