Do you know what I find peculiar?

I swear, you have never made a post with anything of substance. Do you ever have a unique point of view? You try so hard to sound like Hatvol it is embarrassing.

Do you disagree with anything I typed?

And since it's Easter today, I won't tell you to go take a bath with a toaster until tomorrow.

I guess I can see where all you BLUEHAIRS are coming from who were cheering for Ernie and Bernie down in Stokely during the Mears years.

I completely understand that we have been rolling the ball out there for 100 years, however, I am 27 years old and have watched crappy, underachieving, and most of all boring, UT basketball for as long as I can remember, so EXCUSE me if I think Pearl is the best UT basketball coach since sliced bread.

Do I think Pearl is irreplaceable? No

Do I 100% love the guy for what he has done here for the past 5 years? Hell effin yeah.

There is a difference between idol worship and honest criticism.

Justus/Justis.

What difference does it make?

We know who he was talking about.

I was just saying it seemed a little hypocritical to talk about “mental invalids” in regards to Tennessee basketball history and go on to misspell the name of a great player at Tennessee.

I was born in 1984, dude. I have an autographed picture of KO, and was one of practically a dozen students to attend basketball games at the end of the Buzz era. A lot of things happened in this world before you (or me) were born. One of them was basketball. If Pearl has been successful before this year, so have other Tennessee teams by the same standard. Even if they hadn't been, we shouldn't slander our past.

What do my personal feelings about Bruce Pearl have to do with a bunch of mental invalids who don't know Bill Justis from Sid Justice coming on here and waxing philosophical about a history they haven't the faintest idea about?

You tell me.

Every thread in here seems to be the same anymore. I can't even figure out what the debate is over. We all know you don't like Pearl... you've made that clear. I tend to think you have solid points on some of his shortcomings. However, I don't understand why you take offense to people praising the man. Granted, those claiming Pearl is a top five coach at this point are probably a bit blinded by orange glasses, but at the same time, he's accomplished more than any coach has at Tennessee. You could argue the merits of Ray Mears, but no one else that comes to my mind.

So what is the constant *****ing and moaning in this forum all about? Because I would think most are happy with where the program is right now, and with the 2010 class, I think most believe the future looks bright?

I guess I'm missing it. Because I don't understand The Great Pearl debate. The man has done a fine job, you've admitted as much. So again, what's the problem?

a sweet 16 30 years ago, and a sweet 16 10 years ago. man tennessee basketball was AWESOME

And more Sweet 16's plus 1 Elite 8 are just the epitome of awesomeness. Not championships. Good grief, we can't enjoy the season we had for even two weeks without getting into this type of stupid argument.

If the Pearlophiles would quit slandering UT's basketball history, none of these arguments would even exist.

The issue in this debate isn't hard to follow. I don't like stupidity. To act as if Tennessee was The Citadel before Pearl arrived is beyond stupid. If people don't know anything about a given history, it strikes me as reasonable that they wouldn't comment on it.

Once again, do you disagree with my assessment?

Or are you just being your typical moronic self?

I stated that there were people that act like UT had no history before Bruce stepped foot here. Those people, like you, are full of **** and serve no purpose in life. All while giving him credit for taking us to where we have never been.

What history? You know as well as I do that UT played their home games on the outdoor courts next to the HPER and went 5-24 every season before The Bronzed Messiah arrived.

People just want to be smug and feel "right."

Bruce Pearl is by far the greatest coach in tennessee history. Based on the facts. Bruce pearl is the coach of tennessee. Which means that it is impossible to root for tennessee and against bruce pearl. Tennessee basketball was a colossal failue before Bruce pearl. Bruce Pearl has turned the program around. If you dont like pearl because of personal problems. Or off the court issues thats your problem. Which means you are more concerned with other things than tennessee basketball. If pearl is replaceable it is because he has elevated the program to the point where it is an attractive job to other coaches. have a nice day :)
