Do you Run?……Walk?….Bike?…..Swim?…..yoga?…..lift weights? What’s your workout plan?

First long run now that we’re seeing 90° weather. I pushed forward my start time to 7:30am hoping to beat the heat. It was 68° at the start and it was in the high 70s when I finished at 10am. I like getting my day started early, but I don’t know if I have the willpower to start much earlier than 6:30-7am.

Made a big loop that took me all around the eastern part of the city. I love doing loops where you don’t have laps.

Nice run @Nerd-Vol
I’m going to take another shot at a run in the morning.

Thanks!

You owe it to yourself.

What’s everyone’s food/nutrition strategies for these early morning workouts?

For a long run or race, I like to get up 1.25 hours before I need to leave or start my run. I like a bagel with peanut butter and a cup of coffee. Started to go with a hydration mix as well. Let that coffee do its magic so I don’t have any unscheduled pit stops.

Shorter runs, I’ll do a stinger waffle, water and rest room break. I typically try to get up .75 hours before run.

Finally got on my bike today. That was all I asked for on Father’s Day was to set aside some time to ride.

Max temp of 100 degrees per Wahoo. It was a great toasty ride of 17.5 miles with 1,030 of elevation.

I also got to run on Thursday and Friday.

I just can't do any serious workouts in the morning. In the afternoon if I need a little prep for a workout I'll eat some oatmeal or pb crackers 1-2 hours pre workout and usually have dinner or a protein shake post workout.

I hate running. Where is the weight lifting thread?
I hate running too. I also hate weight lifting.
I do them because it’s preferable to being fat and weak.

I’ve had workout threads too nobody posts in them. If you want to share your workout here I’d love to hear it and be motivated by it. I can update the thread title to include whatever you want to include.

Went out at 5:40am for a 9 miler and could still feel the heat as I was finishing up. Yesterday was about of an outlier so far (high of 98) but it’s going to be a hot one.

I am going through a phase here of exercising quite a bit and unfortunately at my age, 58, a lot of stuff hurts. Prepping for the Crazy 8k in Kingsport and also lifting. I am a comically slow runner, so I'm not likely to inspire anybody.

The surgeon doesn’t want me exerting myself for another ~10 days. MOHs scheduled for next Tuesday afternoon. I miss riding my bike.

When I do ride, I cool down and hydrate on the screened porch with a fan running. The closest I come to Slice’s cold plunge is a rinse in cold water at the end of my shower.
