Pearl lied, reputations died. Pearl has damaged the institution that gave him a huge opportunity and has damaged himself in terms of future effectiveness. I can't see how we keep him, particularly if he ends up suspended for a year. This is UT Basketball not Pearl basketball.

The stuff Pearl did are in themselves rather silly and probably not hugely damaging, the fact he lied in the face of a photo with clear evidence is what has brought us to this point. It is the lie and coverup that is the issue.

It's not the hamburger and coke that is the problem. That's minor. It's the lying to the NCAA about it and trying to get others to go along with it. He put a kid's eligibility in peril and placed his own needs above all else and when he found out he couldn't get everyone to lie with him, he turned into a sobbing 7 year old with a conscience and begged forgiveness. It makes all the claims about trying to do the right thing seem like a bunch of empty words for the unwashed.

He who is without sin and never lied cast the first stone.A lot of you hated Pearl before this stupid overblown witchhunt that was more than likely a setup.Considering who the photo was of and where the player ended up playing.Ohio State loves coach Pearl like so many of you............:hi:

Thats exactly my point .Many of you act as if he molested raped or murdered someone.The Salem witch hunts were not that long ago and headed up by so called honorable men of the community.This is rediculous and borders insanity considering the allegations...:crazy:

He's not 'family' he's a hired coach and he screwed up all by himself. No need to back him if he harms the program.

A bunch of you Pearl homers act as if he is UT basketball, he's not!

He screwed the pooch, time to move on and up.

He was a phenomenal basketball coach, but couldn't recruit to play with the horses in the league. Might have been his unwillingness to go to the mattresses. His pal RMK says the sleazy game that basketball recruiting became changed his entire view.

I think it would be funny to see some of you lose your job and reputation for inviting a kid over for a hamburger and coke and then lying about it.This is stupid and the hate must be something other than the allegations.

I snuck my kid a mountan dew after his game last weekend and I asked him to not let mommy know. I am questioning my character.

Nope I think some of the posters on here are trying to get Bruce Pearl fired and burned at the stake like the ignorant people did during the Salem Witch hunts.The punishment does not fit the violation IMO....:eek:k:

You can bet your ass that after having a report filed on me for doing it before, that I wouldn't be doing it again without expectation to be fired when caught. Rationalize all you want, but this isn't the trivial event that you're dumbing it down to be.

The "everybody does it" philosophy is the same one I have heard Kentucky fans espouse to explain their permanent status on the NCAA wall of shame. At least they have a half-dozen national championship banners hanging from their rafters to go along with their long and disturbing prison record.

If that is your standard, we still fall well short.

Unfortunately, your opinion matters exactly as much as mine does - zero. To make matters worse, the opinions that matter reside with those who sent us the brutal report and called our coach unethical. They don't seem to agree with your opinion and they damn sure don't care.
