Don Devoe sucked as a Basketball Coach. It sounds to me like sour grapes coming from an Ohio State Homer where a lot of this started. He was fired because he sucked and was not successful and jealousy suits you just fine Don Devoe.Maybe they will bring Buzz Peterson in next to spew his sour grapes in the laps of the Tip-Off Club attendees.Every top program bends and breaks the rules and they know it.Thats why coaches are allowed to keep coaching even though they commit violations and appear to tarnish the so called sterling image of the Universities. The only thing coach Pearl did that the other coaches dont was get caught lying with evidence. He lied about having a kid over to his house and giving him something to eat and drink.Good God you people act as if he brought him a briefcase full of money or had strippers there with underage drinking.....:loco:
You're the one who said getting fired is evidence you tanked a program. Thus, I was simply letting you know you just ripped your hero Fulmer.
It simply gets down to this.Don Devoe <blah blah diversion> ....The only thing coach Pearl did that the other coaches dont was get caught lying with evidence. He lied about having a kid over to his house and giving him something to eat and drink.Good God <worthless rant>
After all these years, I still am amazed when a dunce puts on his pointed hat, pushes himself and his stool into a corner and begins screaming at the topmost of his lungs:simply put. I don't care. I wish CBP hadn't gotten caught...All I care about is if he can make us an awesome basketball program.
If he can't, with cheating, then we need to find a better coach and cheater.
It simply gets down to this.
Either you want your University to support honorable intentions and actions first, win second, or you want to win regardless of the loss of reputation and the respect that comes from being honorable.
To attempt to make the point that there cannot be success and honor is straight out stupidity. History is repleat with examples of honorable programs and coaches with great success...because of it.
That's fine, the world is chock full of those who have no honor, don't see the relevance in it and enjoin their own self-worth with the W column of their favorite University sports program(s). Alabama is over the brim with these kinds of soulless, whore-mothered retards. Sad, so is Tennessee as we see in this and many other threads.
No convincing will change the black-hearted; sons of Satan are damned to their eternal misgivings. All one can do is sigh and watch them rot from within. Let's hope they are sterile and bear no offspring.
I suppose there is no choice but to have to live through the pendulum of change, it's a reflection of the good-evil dichotomy of mankind as a whole. Until HammyTon goes, or is forced to miraculously gain honor, we are stuck with the Pearls', Raleighs and Kiffins. Perhaps CDD hire is a sign of something positive but I think it's more about what fell into his hands than a change of heart.
Too bad, too sad.
So how are you so sure all the so called dishonorable programs you failed to mention did invite a kid over for a hamburger and a coke. I bet before the 24 hr media coverage and espn that those so called dishonorable programs did lots of ethical recruiting practices. So how are you so sure all the so called honorable programs you failed to mention did not ever invite a kid over for a hamburger and a coke.I bet before the 24 hr media coverage and espn that those so called honorable programs did lots of unethical recruiting practices.
